    Week 9: Da Bears

Color Rush game on Monday Night. They always play Pittsburgh tough and the Steelers haven't beaten them since 2005. Justin Fields is mobile can make things happen with his legs, which makes him a threat. If Matt Nagy isn't a moron, the Bears O can make things happen. Khalil Mack needs no introduction.

In the past I could call this game "winnable", but with the way the Steelers have been trudging along despite winning. That makes any future game against any opponent tough by default. This game comes down to the O-Line play.

if we don't win this game, we bad.

Statistically TJ and Cam should feast because Fields is the most sacked QB in the league. So they'll probably end up having zero sacks cause that's how the Steelers roll

This is the kind of game that will, somehow, randomly turn into a shoot-out with no clear advantage to either side. Likely go to OT.

Or, at least, that is how past Steelers teams have dealt with this type of game.

Will the Steelers have a kicker available? And I don’t mean Harvin

    I’ll go opposite. 12-6 final.

The Bears have a weak rushing defense, and on paper, Najee should have a big game. But they also said that about Seattle's defense and they played the run tough. So I don't know, cautiously optimistic when it comes to this team.

I think Lambo is on the PS awaiting a game-day promotion if Boswell doesn't clear the noggin protocols. But I am not sure I read all that right last night...

I hope Fields doesnt go off and realize he was the 2nd best QB in the draft just yet. Would rather he is running for his life behind that lousy Bears O line.

Right now I'd have to say Mac Jones. He hasn't done anything super impressive but has been effective at managing the game which is more than any of the rookies in this class.

I think that T Lawrence will still turn out to be the best QB taken in this past draft. Fields will show that he is a good QB and be the 2nd best.

Zach Wilson will either be Akili Smith type guy that was a 1 season wonder in college and busts in the NFL, or get the time to develop and be a serviceable franchise QB, but I think INT's will always plague him.

Tre Lance I think was drafted too much on "potential" and will be more like a Brett Hundley type QB that had a lot of hype of his size and arm strength, but could not make it as a #1 and Mac Jones is really just an accurate weak armed game manager. Matt Hasselbeck without (athleticism or a strong arm.)

If the Steelers could have their pick of QBs coming out this year, who would you take?

I have to get down the rabbit hole of research more on guys like Matt Corrall, Sam Howell, Malik Willis, Kenny Pickett.

I like to look at a guy's entire career body of work, not just how he is doing at the moment. Also mechanics, system, read progressions and big game performances to get a feel. I am liking Corral a lot and not as down on Sam Howell as many are, but I want to do some film review on the other guys.

I wasnt big on Trubisky when he came out, because he was really a 1 year wonder and folded vs Stanford in their bowl game, throwing bad INT's in crunch time.

I wasnt down on Josh Allen and his accuracy numbers as a senior, because he lost all his talented WR's from the year before and he had a once in a decade arm, plus he was relatively inexperienced as a QB, but all his interviews showed a fire to compete.

By all accounts, Sam Howell is a Leader. A guy with presence in the huddle and a track record of success, but did he thrive because he had a great run game last season, or is the lack of talent this year making him look suspect? I have no bearing on things, but fun for me to break down when I find the time.

It’s quite possible that Zach Wilson just flat out stinks. The Jets look like a team that actually has a clue and an identity when Mike White is playing.

I think we get the passing game going better this week to compliment the improved rushing game. Isn’t KMack still questionable? We should be fine stopping Fields by keeping him in the pocket where he will throw at least one INT. Boz was limited in practice today so I think he will be ready come game time. Claypool will get some big numbers this week I think also.

    Steelers win easily 27 - 10

    ^^^

Without derailing the thread any further, I’m going to check Corrall out a little further. This year seems like a R2/QB kind of year.

Matt Corral and Malik Willis play against each other this Saturday morning, good opportunity to check out two of the top-rated QBs.

Boz was FP at practice today so it looks like he’ll play.

On the other hand, Ben was LP because of a right shoulder injury.

I assume Mason is getting some reps with the ones each week since Ben is often limited or NP.

Interestingly enough the Bears are one of two teams that Tomlin has never beaten as a HC (other than the Steelers… although that is debatable). The other is the Saints.
