I mean there is room for a middle ground. But this entire offseason, Steelers fans were either at one of the two extremes you just outline.

I think we can reasonably eliminate both.

Of course the Week whatever offense will look better than this week's.

But the far too rosy discussions even around here (usually a reasonable place) about the offensive line might need to be reeled back in.
And, sorry, but the jury is still really far out on Ben. He looks far more fit and athletic than he did a year ago...but he still looks like he is struggling with accuracy and ball placement. Now...that could go away as soon as later this game as he gets dialed in to game action. Or it could just be the same we saw last season and this is just who he is now.

If you go back and look my BOLD PREDICTION was this OL will finish the season as a top5 OL. I also peppered in a lot of posts about being patient while this offense gets used to playing together at the NFL level and speed. Growing pains. The negative doomers on here today are just as annoying or more than the pre-season rosy colored glasses posts. Just my opinion I guess.

Sure. You did that. Most did not.

Being realistic is not the same as doom and gloom. Saying that the team is flawed, has to grow, and has a ceiling of 9-10 wins is not doom and gloom. It is just realism. Not sure why it seems to get under your skin so much.
