Harris looks to be what we thought he would be, and maybe more.
Freiermuth does indeed have very good hands. Bens going to love this kid.
Our WRs seem to be come out strong. Hope they don't start to fall off a little later.
I do like Ballage.
The defense looks to be starting to play together.
Ben looked very good in this game.
Not going to get too excited yet, but I think this team could make a few so called experts look silly

Last year's team started 11-0. That's pretty much all you need to know.
No one can doubt this has talent and can play. The real question is that can they stop the late season collapses and avoid the postseason meltdown.
Can you find & post a tweet showing JuJu’s block (on one of Ballage’s runs). Several pundits were talking about it on Twitter… and I’m kind of a luddite when it comes to finding & posting tweets.![]()
JuJu decleats a linebacker… making us all remember that he’s the best blocking WR we’ve had since Ward.
Perfect. Thank you![]()
I feel like there were three incompletions? Maybe not…there was the one to Najee, Ebrons bread basket drop and maybe an overthrown deep ball? Or maybe I’m just thinking of the deep ball to Johnson?
This thread has absolutely nothing to do with last season. Quick hits are specific to the most recent game.
I think there were genuine concerns once they lost Bush, Tuitt, Dupree, and their top 3 or 4 ILB's. I hoped for the best, but I knew that it was going to be tough for a team that leaned heavily on its defense to lose several stars and about 5 starters overall on one side of the ball. They were an imperfect team that needed everything to go right to go all the way....and we know that didn't happen.
I think there is a lot to be excited about this year. Of course there are concerns, but I think this game showed what the offense might be capable of to go along with a very good defense.
Listen to the very first post with Ben's post interview. He gets asked about 'feels like old times'. Ben says in his answer how the Lions did a good job jumping the 1st 3 options on that play. 1st 3 options. For those that think the Steelers should be able to go out and beat any team like a drum each and every week, and make it look easy, you really need to pay attention to what Ben fought through to make that play successful. Why that play probably fails with most other QBs. How long it took to protect that play. AND you need to realize the other teams are playing that hard too. It is tough to win games in this league.
I think this is another playoff caliber team. I think this team is capable of winning another division title. I do not think this team starts out 11-0, that was an amazing lightning in a bottle feat last season. I do want to see the run offense continue to improve over this season. Still looks like a lot of short passes as part of the run game, I would like to see a consistent power run game develop.
TV announcers were talking about how great the crowd was. Looked half empty to me. I get it that it’s PS but just don’t keep bragging about it.
I’m always more impressed with Steeler fans on the road than at home.
Freiermuth kinda reminds me of Dennis Pitta. Nothing flashy about his game, but it's solid and he literally catches everything
On that long throw to DJ, Ben didn’t hit him in stride because he might have had a lineman and defender in front of him preventing him from following through on the throw a little more - it kind of looked like that in the video anyway - I highly doubt it’s due to lack of arm strength
Honestly Ben's arm strength looked good last year, it was his accuracy that was off.
I know what you are saying, but I think he is a better route runner than Pitta and like the Tyler Eifert comparisons. But I think his willingess to improve as a blocker will separate him in that regard. He is a natural hands catcher. I didnt see a lot of double catches in his tape, as opposed to Ebron who sometimes fights the football or lets it get to his chest. Definitely a guy that can be a "chain mover" on 3rd downs.
Maybe accuracy was off last year because he was too busy rehabbing instead of practicing
Well, this is the year for Ben, rehabbed, plenty of practice time in, revamped running game to keep him from wearing down, young o line that should get better and better as the season goes on, new talented TE and solid wr corps
We’ll see if age catches up with him and the elbow wears down (?) I think he’s going to be better than last year given all the factors
