My son and I were discussing this very thing earlier today. It seems perfectly logical to me that Mac Jones knew the playbook better and here's why. Bill and Nick are old pals from way back. When Bill was HC of the Browns, before the move, Nick was his DC. The 2 of them are still tight. Mac Jones learned most of the playbook while at Alabama with Nick. Bill's offensive playbook is very similar. Therefore, Mac Jones was the perfect guy to help Cam Newton learn the playbook. Cam being from Auburn, then Carolina, didn't have the access Mac had. Thus Mac Jones is better suited to run Bill's offense.
Id believe the story if Haskins name was inserted where Newton’s went. A 10 year vet who played in offense prior year schooled by rookie. Sounds like some blowhard on radio or TV who likes to hear own voice. Cam is just not a good passer, he’s a freak of nature athletically and is aging. could be some truth, hard for me to believe.
It's probably a Boston thing. Overhyping and overblowing. Brady's gone, now Mack has to be anointed as early as yesterday.

It was Ninkovich that said it on his podcast. Do I believe it? I don't care. Newton's gone.
