I don't blame him. If they don't use him might as well trade him to see what they get
Not like they are short on skill position players anyway
Call Mayock. Maybe we can get a 2nd round pick for the farmer.
He's likely gone next year anyways.
Didn’t he have a drop in yesterday’s game?
I think at this point he has more value to the Steelers as a #4 WR than he has in trade value. Probably Ben’s last year in a 17 game season where injuries are bound to happen. We need depth at the position.
Let him go test the market next year if he thinks he’s in such demand elsewhere. He’ll have his opportunities to show what he can do.
BIG Washington fan here, a little broken hearted, but understand his request. Was a little pissed last year watching Johnson drop ball after, and still ignoring Washington. I wish him the best, but don't really want to watch him play in a different uniform.

Whatever happened to commitments and contracts that have been inked?
If Colbert gets anything for him now, he's an early front runner for executive of the year. I just don't see teams getting in line to get him. But stranger things have happened in NFL, so who am I to judge.

Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
The only throw I saw go his way was put an arms length behind his crossing route. I don't call that one a drop. Maybe you remember a different pass than that? I was just disappointed we didn't see much thrown downfield. Especially late in the game with Haskins in vs backup backup DBs.
I like Washington but…meh. Traded, he’ll follow the same career path as Markus Wheaton. I mean I think it’s a safe bet to say the Steelers know wide receivers. They may not know a lot but they know WRs and if he’s not getting playing time that’s on him. That’s not on the Steelers.
I really like Washington too, but I can’t really fault Tomlin for making him the #4 guy. He’s a deep threat but not as good as Claypool. He is a possession receiver but not as good as Juju. And he can run after the catch but can’t create explosive plays like DJ.
He’s good at everything but not great at anything. The only way I see him getting more playing time is if DJ continues to have issues with drops and gets in Tomlin’s doghouse. That or an injury.
But that’s why I don’t want to trade him. Injuries happen and I like having 4 quality starters at the WR position.

I think Washington might fail to realize that he doesn't have any trade value.
playing time is earned not demanded. Who’s reps does he want? with Harris getting a big role James not getting more touches unless injury or DJ gets the drops again. Apparently he sees it that way too.
Especially right now when most teams will already have tough decisions cutting guys. Maybe down the road if teams start losing WRs to injury he might have some value.
The Steelers should allow him to go pursue a trade on his own. If he can find a team willing to give a third round pick or better, they’ll let him go. That way the Steelers aren’t just straight up saying no.
The problem is, what if we’re the team that incurs those injuries. Then Washington will be far more valuable to us than whatever we could realistically get for him.
Right, so what’s more valuable to us? Having quality depth at the WR position for (most likely) Ben’s last season? Or a 5th round 2022 pick?
I’d rather keep Washington and let him make the very most out of each rep he gets as he auditions for next year. Maybe we even get a compensatory pick for him. Not exactly sure what determines that.
Washington to the Patriots for Chase Winovich straight up.
