Who or what is a Buddy Johnson? And is he better as a prospect than the kid from Michigan?
We lost one Bud.
This Bud's for you.
First defensive pick
Another athletic ILB which isn't a bad idea incase Bush goes down. Spillane is a decent backup but the dropoff in athleticism is steep from Bush.
As he is right now, he is a 2-down LB and a liability in the passing game. Seems to be a smaller version of Vince Williams!
Buddy Johnson sounds like a blues name. Buddy "Big Muddy" Johnson .
I thought they'd at least use the pick on an edge rusher, the depth is rough.
This is NFL Networks grade.
6.13
GOOD BACKUP WHO COULD BECOME STARTER
The Browns just took Tony Fields II. In my mind, these two picks will be paired & compared...
I know very little about Johnson . but someone I trust wrote this ( Curt Popejoy )
The Pittsburgh Steelers stuck with Texas A&M for their second fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft. After taking offensive tackle Dan Moore, Pittsburgh followed it up with fellow Aggie and inside linebacker Buddy Johnson.
Johnson is an interesting case because the measurables and timed speed are all very good. He’s been a starter for two years and when you watch him play he seems to always be around the football.
Johnson is a team leader, called the defense for Texas A&M and is hyper-aggressive. He’s a coach’s type of player. I can see him being a very productive tackler and run defender in the Steelers defense if he can become a bit more patient and learn to shed blockers better
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles problem now
Olsavsky LOVES this guy.
OK. So that is Twitter scout speak for one of two things:
1. BJ (uh-oh...) has not had proper high level coaching and will greatly benefit from NFL coaching and technique adjustments.
2. BuJo (better...) is dumb. Like he is super fast and twitchy and all but all he can do is see the ball carrier and run towards the football. Anything else and his brain goes into vapor lock.
Guess we get to find out which one...
Lawrence Taylor could not remember a play to save his life. Parcells would yell at him repeatedly for not following his assignments... but, Taylor would simply make up for it with a "tackle for a loss".
One story goes: LT makes a sack. Parcells yells at him, "That was NOT the play that we called!!!" To which LT responded, "It should have been."
