I'd have no problem with a day 3 pick spent on Jamie Newman. I really don't see the Steelers drafting any QB in the first 3 rounds this year, but taking one who is raw with ability on Day 3 sounds like a good plan to me.

Indeed They have been connected to Mond quite a bit, but I think Mond goes Day 2 (even as early as the 40s).

This will be interesting. I didnt think they would look QB, but I guess you cover all your bases and if you have 4 in training camp and the #4 guy is not just a camp arm, then you can likely trade away your #4 guy and get something like they did with Dobbs a couple seasons ago.

Newman is big, athletic, has a real strong arm, but I think they year of not playing last season has hurt his draft stock. Look at his Wake tape and you see the ability, but he didnt perform consistently at Senior Bowl. He has been working out with Quincy Avery, who is also QB coach for Jalen Hurts, Trey Lance, Josh Dobbs and others.
