I highly recommend taking a look at the video on John Leglue. Most of his snaps are at RT with some at RG. The breakdown of what he does well and not so well is very well done.

The team is EXTREMELY high on James Pierre. If either Sutton or Hilton walk, the Steelers won't blink while sliding him into their place.

Do not get me wrong: Sutton is the heir apparent as the boundry Cb, and Hilton is Hilton... but, Pierre is the next big "undrafted steal" that this team unearthed.

Yup, I looked him up when he was signed to the practice squad. Somewhere around 6'7", 310lbs. 34-1/8" LONG ARMS, benched 17 reps of 225lbs. All AAC Academic, has his MBA from Tulane. UDFA signed by Saints, then Packers, now Steelers. Good athlete in pass protection, with agility and long arms. Not a dominant run blocker. Versatile, as he played both OT spots, Guard and some snaps at C while at Tulane.

Smart O linemen with good feet, big frame, long arms and agility are a good thing to find. Somehow I think his run blocking holds him back, but could be a solid reserve.

Jarron Jones was the best O lineman in the latest failed pro league, or XFL reboot. But I thought he had some domestic battery charges on him last year, so am really surprised he is on the roster. Never saw any notice of charges being dropped.

Aviante Collins was a guy that played the extra OT in Jumbo formations for the Vikings and was in competition to start at Guard for them last year in camp, but he didnt win the competiton. A bit surprising he was let go, but maybe doesnt fit in the Vikings plans from size perspective. At least another guy with experience to challenge for a spot on the 53.

Danny Isadora was a good prospect coming out as a Miami Hurricane at Guard. 5th round pick of the Vikings, but also been with Vikings and Chiefs. Likely a guy the Steelers liked in the draft a few years ago, but again a 4 year NFL vet in for competition at Guard.

Is Pierre a slot CB then? Maybe a NB Safety? One article I read was exclusively on the WC game vs the Browns. Pierre only got 6 snaps on defense which were all Dime package. He was a hell of a gunner on ST. He and Layne were phenomenal as gunners.

Hard to find good articles with film breakdown on these PS guys.

Yeah, I think the fact that Pierre seems to have overtaken Layne on the depth chart is an unfortunate sign that Justin Layne isnt making the transition well. I hope that changes this year. Pierre is too big to cover in the slot and I dont know that he has the speed to run with guys on the field side, so maybe boundary cb or fits in dime sub packages for now.

The reports on the link you shared say that Pierre is clunky with his footwork and likely because of his 6'2" frame he isnt going to play the slot. They pegged a place like Chicago as a good spot for him to land and play boundary CB if Artie Burns sucked...which he likely did.
