still the tweet by filliponi on the Steelers having the cheapest coaching staff in the league is a little disturbing,
you do indeed get what you pay for
I would put defense third behind the offense and the coaching as the main problem. I do think our run defense is suspect and teams in general will be running it a bit more in 2022.
The last time the Steelers won a playoff game it was 2016. That is six years ago. We are keeping the Jets and Lions company. The standard remains the standard.
Think that might have anything to do with missing your 3 best run defenders at the LB level for massive stretches of the season? Maybe having the specific guy you drafted to track RBs sideline to sideline go out for the year and be replaced with average NFL athletes might have something to do with it? Or playing a 215 pound converted safety in base packages who got smooshed by OL when they could get their hands on him have anything to do with it?
