I really don't want to buy into any of the reports until it's made official. Otherwise, it's just speculation from clickbait artists

Same. Too many people try to get the jump on a story and it turns out false and it’s so much more nowadays than ever before.

Pouncey knows when to move on and Ben doesn't.

Well it's Ben's turn now. This will throw all the mocks in the toilet.

when Maurkice told me has retiring, I shouldn't have leaked it prematurely.

I should have waited for him to make the official announcement himself.

    sorry Maurkice my brother

His name by itself even sounds like he should be a Steelers lineman.

So most of the mocks I’ve done have him available in the second round. Thoughts that he’s actually there?

Maybe he’s sending out hints waiting for Ben, so they can retire together

We need a backup too. Maybe a OG/C type in a later round?

The center crop this draft has some solid names:

    Creed Humphrey
    Quinn Meinerz
    Drake Jackson

I dont think he lasts to the Steelers 2nd pick. At profootballnetwork.com, Humphrey is listed as the 23rd overall prospect on their board.

Just like the Saints took C Caesar Ruiz at #24 last year in the draft, I think Humphrey warrants similar ranking. He may actually be a better center than Ruiz.

Humphrey is the best, no doubt.

Drake Jackson is not a great athlete, so might not be great at any pulls and could get beat in extended pass protection drops. He reportedly got bull rushed a lot at Senior Bowl week and didnt anchor well, so I would not count on him to be a target.

Meinarz first snaps playing Center were at Mobile, so its not to say he cant play it, but that he is really a guy that needs to learn the position over time. Not a plug and play guy in 2021.

-Josh Meyers from Ohio State is somebody to look at as well. Could be a 2nd round guy.
-Landon Dickerson from Bama is a talent, but has injury history.
-Micael Menet from Penn State has some buzz as well and could be a 3rd or 4th round prospect.
-Tre Hill from Georgia is massive at 330 LBS, but not sure of athletecism
-Drew Dalman from Stanford is a technician, but I think around 290lbs (son of former 49er Chris Dalman)

I think the Steeler will have to take him in R1 if they want him. I've been reading the Chiefs have him as their R1 pick. Dickerson gives me the feeling that he is an accident going someplace to happen.

Trey Hill from Georgia as well. Not 1st round but an option.

Agree. You think this board was tough on Senquez Golson, just wait and see if the Steelers picked Dickerson coming off knee surgery and he doesnt recover well .

Yeah, when you dont have a Center with lateral athleticism, then he isnt able to come off and help on either side in pass protection vs an Even front, nor pass off a NT and pick up MLB blitz in an odd front.

Basically, you have a road pylon at C and the QB running for his life like Mahomes in the Super Bowl, so I see why the Chiefs would grab Humphrey if he is there. Also, that is what frightens me about Drake Jackson. I would have to watch more film on him.
