First thing wrong with this is that when you are around people with compromised immune systems, you DO actually use distance and wear a mask/PPE, and wash your hands frequently during flu season. My workplace has offered the flu shot for decades if you want one. Nothing different really.
Second thing wrong with this is it doesn't take a political affiliation to care about others. I consider myself a fiscal conservative and a social liberal. Which box do I fit in? Stop taxing me AND stop wasteful spending. Equal rights and fair treatment for ALL legal Americans.
Third thing wrong with this is I watch zero media. Except for this type sports forum, streaming movies, audio books, and some time waster games on my iphone. My thoughts are based on my reality, not some talking head on tv or some voice on NPR.
I feel like this whole thing comes down to how much YOU personally feel your individual rights are being encroached upon, how much YOU actually care about the people around you, and how much influencer propaganda YOU are letting in. I agree these things can be a problem in the world at large, but it is not an issue at all for this discussion.
Shut down all the restaurants and ban airlines because of smoking! Ban cars because of drunk drivers! Make sure the non-drinkers and non-smokers can't travel or eat at restaurants too! Make them wear oxygen masks and have breathalyzer locks! It's all for your own good!

It is amazing to me that even today you will still see a few of the hardcore crazies wearing masks. It really has become the liberal version of the red MAGA hat. When I see someone still wearing a mask on their face and they are not extremely elderly or disabled, I have about the same opinion of them as I would of someone who wore a swastika armband in public. There is really no difference between the two as far as the statement they are making.
