Bills week (time to move on)

This week will tell a lot about where this team is. Even if they lose, if they go up to Buffalo and play a competitive game I'll be happy. If they play "more of the same" on offense and get blow out I will not like our chances going forward. Buffalo could easily be a team we see again in the playoffs so we have to set a tone versus them. I could care less about the #1 seed we just need to focus on playing better, winning our division and going from there. Cleveland is still in our rear view mirror and is not the same team we thumped earlier this year. I don't want the division coming down to our last game of the season in Cleveland!

The Bills are probably going to be the toughest team we have face thus far.

All that said, just get Conner back, run the ball (for at least 2 yards per carry) and CATCH THE DAMN BALL!

On defense, just contain Allen and get pressure!

I still believe, let's do this!

I think that this game will say more about how far this team can go than any thus far. I haven't watched the Bills a lot so I don't know how we match up. But I'm going with a Steelers win 24-19.

I don't know that either team will put up a lot of points vs the other's defense. I think we will see another back and forth game with the team that makes the fewest mistakes gets the W. Here We Go!

It really depends which team shows up, and if 6 days is enough rest. This team is pretty banged up and going up against a hot Buffalo team at home, where we historically haven't fared too well

If they can minimize the drops and at least get 80 yards on the ground they have a good shot. If not, Bills win

Ben’s going to be more aggressive passing downfield and Conner and the OL will revive the running game. Defense will hold its own with Nelson back. 31-23 Steelers.

Re: Bills week (time to move on)

We need to get as many of these guys back as possible by Sunday night!

    WILL RETURN:
    Conner and Nelson.

    OUT THIS WEEK:

Right now Spillane is out for at least another week.

    COULD PLAY:
Haden is in concussion protocol, Boz is a wait and see in practice this week.

    COVID19 LIST:

For some reason Pouncey is still on the COVID19 list, but he could be added to WILL RETURN if he clears this list.

Buffalo is gonna beat the Steelers by 2+ scores. They have the horses on defense to replicate the WFT and the Ravens defensive gameplan. They also have the offensive firepower to turn possessions into points far more readily than the Ravens practice squad and the WFT were able to.

If ben gets control of playcalling there is a chance. The Bill's defense is actually very ordinary at best this year

    BOOOO!

I think we can rattle Allen into some turnovers. We just need to contain his running...

The bottom line is the Steeler offense must play better or this will be a loss but, I think they will right the ship. The bills defense has holes and, they don't have the pass rush like some of the other teams the Steelers have faced. The big the thing is to contain Josh Allen and, hopefully the d-line will have a huge night. Just need the WR's to catch the freaking ball.

Re: Bills week (time to move on)

The drops killed us, cut those in half and we win, get the running game going (say 100yds total on the ground) and we probably win. Fortunately for defense, if Allen can spy the QB, Williamson should be able to handle run stopping duties. Hoping for no injuries and hope the rest Conner and Pouncey got will go a long way to righting the ship for the stretch run. Spillane, Haden and Williams will be getting their rest now, wonder if we can get Heyward a week of rest without too much drop off. The rest of the team should be ok as they are pretty young.

Now, we just need to keep Allen in the pocket and get pressure on him. Watt needs at least one sack, Donald is 1/2 ahead of him after last game and the Rams are 2 behind the Steelers. I am looking for 5 sacks this game, with Watt getting 3!

Looks like Haden is out for Sunday. Still in concussion protocol.

I say we win here: Conner being back and our loss against the Redskins hopefully will mean that we have a decent run game again.

Also, a big part of the L to the Redskins was that our D failed to create takeaways, which in some of our other games helped mask the performance of the offense - giving them short field or the D scoring outright. I'm gonna say that this time around we will hopefully create some takeaways as we did in our other games.

Some people always pick the Steelers to lose in big games. That way it’s win-win. If they win they’re happy and if they lose they look smart.

I guess we'll find out soon if Justin Layne has what it takes to be the heir apparent

It's weird how some people predict that an offense whose closest statistical comps are Sam Darnold and Alex Smith are going to roll an AFC playoff team and then will blame coaches for underperforming.

Considering Steelers are tied with Bills for 7th in points scored and lead league in fewest points allowed you could make argument they could beat anyone. The eye test last 4 weeks tell me they could lose to anyone. Throw in injuries on D ( not sure Bills injuries) to me its a roll of dice .Even match, If Steelers drop 6-7 passes again they lose.

If they throw another 50 passes within 4 yards of the line of scrimmage. I don't care how many they do or don't catch; they'll lose.

They can throw it 100 times. That's fine with me. But when they started doing this, defenses respected the vertical element. That created space for receivers to catch it short and run it long. The defense would get stretched out of shape. No one currently respects the Steelers deep passes. So no spacing underneath. The entire defense is hanging out within 10 yards of scrimmage.

Yep. Bills have been trending up and the Steelers have been trending down. Blame it on whatever you want but the main problem is the offenses inability to do anything other than throw 5 yard passes. Having to use all 3 (sometimes 4) downs to move the markers (almost every time) has been a problem all season and eventually, you’re not going to be able to move them every time or even as frequently as in the past.

I’ll go on record for Sunday Night, first Steelers offensive series:

    1st & 10 - Complete 3 yard pass.
    2nd & 7 - Draw to Conner - No gain...but let’s be positive...one yard gain.
3rd & 6 - Take your pick: Incomplete pass down the right sideline OR complete 4- yard pass.
    4th & (your pick) - Punt

I say the 3rd down play will fall incomplete.

Ask me around 11:45PM on Sunday. Losing two in a row, and the #1 seed....

Cover Beasley, drop less than 2 balls... run the ball at least 75 and we should pull out the win.

I only see one of those three happening sadly

But on a serious note, Bills have given up a ton of points this year, I really like our chances this game.

Bills are a 2 point home favorite. Basically, even Vegas calls this a pick 'em game.

Conner and Pouncey help a struggling offense. The Bills defense isn’t that good for anyone who hasn’t been paying attention. Road game means nothing without fans. The best two wins of the season came on the road. This will be another road win.

Well, if we play Washington, Claypool, Juju and DJ as our WRs and quit putting RBs and lineman out there in critical downs we can probably win this game.
