They stopped the clock to switch the ball to a K-Ball (kicker ball) because Smith took the ball.
So there’s Belichicks next loop hole to stop the clock and get the FG team onto the field...
They claimed they didn't have the kicking ball ready so they had to stop the clock to switch balls. If they didn't do that crap there is no way they get the kick off. Alex Smith left with the ball should have been the end of the half. That was basically 3 points given to the Redskins by the officials.
