Send out a 5th for Williamson and an 7th.
Not a bad day's work.

i remember some people on here wanted him so they got their wish
the depth can't hurt. I like Colbert being aggressive. I really don't know much of AW since he plays for the dumpster fire Jets.
If he can pitch several good innings of relief a week he will be an excellent deadline pick up. Never have enough bullpen arms...
Wait...if he can shore up that third defensive pair and put in some PK minutes...
Crap...
6'1" 245 lbs. Had 3 100+ tackle seasons in Tennessee and for Jets. Two down ILB and solid depth at ILB, plus could rotate between Vince and Spillane. I dont think he is a guy that will be on the field in dime passing situations, but will have to see.
He is a free agent in 2021, so the Steelers traded away a 5th round pick for a 7th round pick and get to rent Williamson for the remainder of the season. That is basically what the price of a veteran ILB depth is.
my only complaint is he doesnt play DT....
once AluAlu went out we couldnt stop or slow the run we was getting gashed until we went to a 4 man front ..
I would be more excited to hear we snatched a DT that could play the nose and has quick hands but we do need the depth at ILB as well with Gilbert ailing
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
I don't know. If Heyward and Alualu are both just banged up, they may stand pat. Buggs held his own yesterday and seemed to play better as the game went on.
I haven't heard if Wormley is out for the season, or will be able to come off of IR. If he is out for the year, then maybe they look to make a move.
He want a super bowl between Seahawks and the steelers!
Here’s my take:
Buggs got better as the game went on.
Early on, on Baltimore’s first long-run of the game, Edwards ran through a huge hole that normally Alualu closes. Later on, those holes became smaller / occurred less often. This gives me hope.
Buggs did get better as the game went on and if Wormley comes back soon, I don’t think they should touch the position. However, if Wormley is out for a bit and Heyward AND Alualu miss a couple weeks, I’d definitely like some rotational depth there. I did notice big Henry Mondeaux getting some good push in there so maybe they do stand pat with the way things are now.
Ok so since this is for 2022 picks, it doesn't even matter what AW does or doesn't do as a Steeler. He is basically free. Plus...they are going to have a crazy amount of comp picks in 2022. Dupree, AV, Juju/Conner, Hilton, etc. Likely the guy they just traded for.
This is a no lose situation for the Steelers.
Man, they are going to have a crazy amount of picks in 2022. They might have the max of 4 compensatory picks! Plus, those are tradeable now. Colbert is going to go nuts. But that is another thread...
Anyways, looks like a solid move. Either AW is excellent depth at a thin position or he is able to assert himself and push a current starter to the bench. All at the cost of moving back 2 rounds in a draft where you reasonably expect to have a few extra picks? No downside.

Also, anyone heard what the associated roster move is?
Wormley just went to IR this past week I believe ... so to me ( if I am correct on timing of going to IR ) that doesnt sound like a guy who is a week or two away ..hence with 2 starters at least banged up I am worried

The Steelers’ trade for ILB Avery Williamson was done to improve their depth and provide an experienced backup for Robert Spillane, who has played very well as a replacement for injured Devin Bush. The Steelers have no immediate plans to replace Spillane as the starter.
