The Throwin' Samoan?
All Defense!
Tua is the future. Give him his reps. Why spend the no. 5 pick on him if he isn't?

I forgot about that guy.
Nah. It is about the fact that they are finally confident in Tua's health and progression in their system. They need the rest of 2019 to get him up to speed. Then you have years 2-5 of his "cheap" rookie deal to attempt to compete. That salary cap benefit window is the new NFL "cheat code" to franchise mode. Bad teams, like the Jets, screw this up and waste multiple years of the cheap part of the deal. Good teams, like the Chiefs and Seahawks, go to SBs while their starting QB is not costing that much. Dolphins appear to want to be in the latter group.
Long story short, I suspect that they don't give a crap about their final 2020 record, as long as Tua makes significant positive progress and they identify the other gaps in their roster.
Not sure I agree with this move, but the coaches see what happens behind the scenes so maybe they know something everyone else doesn't. Maybe Tua is the real deal.
However, you don't see this often, a QB playing very well & winning games, only to get benched. I feel bad for Fitzy, he's always been a good QB but constantly stuck on shitty teams. Probably could have had a great career if he actually played for a contender.
