Minkah Fitzpatrick - First 3 Games of 2020 Season

Like many others have pointed out, Minkah Fitzpatrick seems to be missing in action through the first three games. I don't really notice anything bad with his play, nor good with his play............I honestly just don't see him hardly at all during the TV broadcasts.

So my question today is this: Is Minkah just not playing well so far.........or are teams just completely game planning away from him and avoiding throwing the ball into his area so far this season? I know some posters here watch the All-22 film (I think that is what it is called) from the games after they are played and are able to get a better look at what is actually happening on the field.

Does anybody have any ideas or insight in to just why we are not seeing Minkah show up on TV during the games so far this season?

I think not having any "splash" plays has us all wondering...

I think he is playing more of a traditional safety roll now and maybe the pass rush being so effective it takes away from the deeper ball...just an assumption, not sure without looking at game film

I think teams are Just simply avoiding him. They’ve been attacking Edmunds and Mike Hilton a lot thinking of them as a weak spot, And for the most part they’ve been making them pay.

Minkah isn’t a Troy-type where he is all over the place blitzing and attacking. We’ve become so accustomed to that for all these years that we forget that Troy was not your typical safety.

I personally think it’s a good thing that we aren’t hearing much from the secondary. The front seven has been so dominant so far that the secondary hasn’t done much outside of Hilton. Give it a little more time. Minkah and the secondary will get their splash plays again.

I think teams are avoiding him but I also believe he’s being used a little differently this season as well. It seems like he’s been down at the LB spot a little more often than last season. I don’t know this for a fact, it’s just an observation that I’ve seen...but again, I could be wrong and just noticed more this season than last.

Troy has high risk, high reward. He got burned a lot in our last two Superbowls against the Cards and Packers. When the Cards took the lead Troy was burnt badly by Larry Fitzgerald on his long TD and only Ben & Holmes bailed us out with the game winning drive. Against the Packers I worked with a guy from Green Bay and he showed me clips after the Superbowl how Rodgers used Troy's aggression to lure him into bad spots on their TDs.

Don't get me wrong Troy was an all time great but he had his weaknesses.

So yeah having a traditional safety that doesn't get burned long and makes a few splash plays a year is okay with me. No one will ever be Troy again.

I think you may be right. Minkah said they "likely" may be moving him around more this year
