Claypool best play was the catch they turned around and called incomplete. It was incomplete but if that DBs leg is an inch different, he maybe toe taps that before hitting his elbow.
As for Washington...he’s just another guy...he falls in the category with Eli Rogers, Markus Wheaton, Charles Johnson, Courtney Hawkins...he’s got the tools but he’s got to step it up...
I think its the fact that Claypool is more "twitchy" of an athlete than JuJu. Kid has a 40" vertical compared to JuJu 32" vertical and couple that basketball background of lateral movement with long strides and he probably covers more ground getting off the line of scrimmage than JuJu.
The comparisons with JuJu were always Hines Ward...a guy with a 4.54 40-yard dash time that is stocky, with great hands and likes physical play. I still think that is his best comparison. Ward wasnt going to run away from many people, but gets his yards in and out of the breaks and tough catches in traffic. As Claypool continues to grow in the offense, a duo of Claypool and JuJu is very similar to one of Hines Ward and Plaxico Burress.
I know it's very early yet, but I think Claypool's already shown more than Plexiglass ever did - at the very least in the brains department, anyway.
Exactly - as compared to this:
Which rookie would you rather have?On the fourth and final touchdown by Chase Claypool, Roethlisberger said he changed the play at the line of scrimmage to exploit the Eagles' defensive play call, made evident by the group’s pre-snap alignment.
...Adding insult to injury after the Eagles lost, 38-29, to the Steelers at Heinz Field, Roethlisberger said the players on the field had never practiced the play he ended up calling.
“I think the coolest part about the whole thing is we’ve never run the play I called with that formation or that group on the field," Roethlisberger said. “So Chase had never been in that spot before.”
I recommend listening to Claypool's interview with Pat McAfee from today. I just found out that his nickname is 'Mapletron'.

Tried to post a Twitter from Chase but it didn't work
Claypool is going to be better then Burress and never seen Burress take over a game like that and he's a rookie without a preseason.
FWIW, Claypool's jerseys are selling fast. Fans are seeing a future star.
I sure hope DJ can start staying healthy, he and Claypool can be one of the best duos in the league.
I think Claypool is way ahead of Burris when Burris was a rookie and, I can't wait too see what he does next. I also loved his post after the game 7/11 is always open! lol
I like the one where he photoshopped his head on shady Brady holding up 4 fingers. Tried to post it but it didn't work. Maybe someone here knows the pic and can post it

I didn't even know his basketball background.
My 76ers could use Chase at PG lol
They needed to keep Jimmy Buckets! That dude is money.
I love when I see wide receivers that were good basketball players. I remember when Allen Robinson came out, I posted a video of some of his high school basketball highlights. You can learn a lot about a WR by watching them play basketball.
I live in Chicago and the sports radio folks here are complaining why they drafted Kmet when they could have had Claypool.
it seems that the Steelers have a knack of finding receivers in later rounds. Burress and Santonio Holmes were first rounders and solid pros. This cannot be said for many first round WRs. For example Jax drafted Blackmon and Reggie Williams in the first round very high and both were duds.
but the Steelers also found gems like Hines Ward, Mike Wallace, Emmanuel Sanders, Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant Juju, Diontae and now Claypool. It’s like a WR factory.
the list of Browns star WRs that they drafted are .... <crickets>
