Am I the only one who read the title, but had their brain translate it to: "Ryan Switzer Retires"?

Nope, you aren't the only one. I did a double take as well.

One of my favorite players. So unfortunate what happened to him. Shazier was just entering his prime years as a player.

I hope he has a great retirement.

I am guessing he needs to get away from the team and the game for a year to fully come to terms with this , I would be surprised if he is not back with the team in some capacity next season be it a coaching assistant or scout or whatever his skill set best serves him .. my guess would be a linebackers coach as he not only played the game at a very high level but he was/is a student of the game and that normally translates well as a coach
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles problem now

He will be back with the organization next year. I look forward to seeing him back on the field as a coach or ambassador of some sort.

It's a shame. An ascending career cut too short

Right on the cusp of reaching All-Pro status. The Defense missed him in 2017 big time.

His performance in the 2015 Wildcard Game was one for the books. Best of luck to 50.

Thank God! I remember when it happened and Ryan talking about a comeback. I realize he was using it as motivation but was worried he would actually try to play again. He seems like a great young man and hopefully the Steelers can continue find a spot for him in the organization.
