Great 1st step ....
very good bend around corner
great chop and spin move but he is inconsistant with hands and doesnt have great power
great motor tough and explosive
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
There's gonna be a lot of happy campers in here with that pick lol

I like the motor of the guy
This guy can get after the QB. On the edge he can be like Watt in that he is just relentless. He can also be moved inside situationally and be a speed mismatch for OL and the best description he brings to this defense is Chaos. Cannot wait till Highsmith's year 2 after a year in the Steelers' weightroom.
Nice draft by the Steelers so far. Here We GO!
Alex DongSmith in 2 years?![]()
I’m so happy with this pick. He was my guy before the season even started (back when my job wasn’t crazy; so I could watch film). I heard about this kid (I forget how), watched some tape, and said, “I want him on the Steelers!!!”
I haven’t gotten a player that I wanted in a while... since April 24, 2004. Hey, today is April 24th. I think that all drafts should be held on April 24th.
Anyway... woo-ha!!!
Overall this has been a good day 2 by team, even considering that they passed on some good o-linemen. They got an athletic freak height-speed mismatch at WR and they got a high effort skilled edge rusher that will provide depth and allow them to move on from Dupree. Some good coaching will make this draft class a real success based on this day 2
So, assuming this pick works out well, should the plan be to sign Dupree to a 3yr contract with the intent to replace him with this guy (unless Dupree turns into Superman) or plan on Dupree playing out his tag and this guy replacing him next season?
Brian Baldinger was on Twitter talking about Highsmith’s five (FIVE) different pass-rush moves.
Something, something... has moves like DeMarcus Ware... needs to add some strength, but has an amazing repertoire of moves... something, something.
Interesting OLB project to replace Chickillo on the Depth Chart.
Bradshaw jersey... hurt & retired within two seasons
Lloyd jersey... hurt within two seasons
Kirkland jersey... gone within two seasons
Zereoue jersey... gone within two seasons
Got my kid a Polamalu jersey... gone within two seasons
Got my kid a Heeeeath jersey... gone within two seasons
Got my kid an AB jersey... went crazy within two seasons
Got my kid a Villanueva jersey... the Flag incident

No way!!!![]()
I don't think drafting Highsmith at 102 has to effect Watt or Dupree at all. The Steelers have 5 seasons invested in Dupree and it looks like it's about to pay off. Watt is the guy that's going to get the big extension but that doesn't make Dupree automatically cut from the roster. I still think a team friendly 3 year deal gets done with Dupree. A 5 year team friendly deal gets done with Watt. Both will get a sizable signing bonus. Highsmith will hopefully get a 2nd contract as well.
The Steelers’ defense has always been best when it has a third OLB to give the other two a break (e.g. Woodley in 2007). By season’s end, Watt was slowing down. Understandable, considering he was playing over 90% of the snaps.
SUMMATION:
I agree: the Steelers can re-sign both Watt and Dupree, and also have Highsmith on a rookie deal. In four years, Dupree moves on, and Highsmith takes over as a starter.
This sure sounds a hell of a lot more promising than "Incredible raw talent, needs to learn how to actually play football to succeed at the pro level," or on the other hand, "Good understanding of the game, lacks size and athleticism." For a third-round pick, I don't know what more you'd want.
See you Space Cowboy ...
