    New Players’ Jersey Numbers

What number do you think they’ll wear? What number do you hope that they’ll wear? What number have you heard that they will actually choose?

    DOTSON:
He has a poll up on Twitter. Obviously, people chose 69. His avatar is Ramon Foster’s body (#73) with his head photoshopped on. My guess: he’s waiting for the okay to choose #73 (because, for some unknown reason, it isn’t currently available).

    New Players’ Jersey Numbers

I think Claypool will ask for 83 and get it.

    HighSmith will take 95.

    McFarland will take 25.

Dotson will get the Twitter Number.

    Brooks will take 45

Davis will take 69 or 65

I think all those numbers are currently available?

    The only numbers that are out are 1, 12, 32, 36, 47, 52, 58, 59, 70, and 75. 86 has not been used since Ward retired.

I have not seen 63, or 68 in a long time. The NFL Banned 0 and 00.

    Re: New Players’ Jersey Numbers

From what I’m seeing on Twitter about Claypool’s number...

They weren’t going to issue #83.

They were going to issue him 88, but suddenly there was a lash-back of people saying it should only be Swann’s number (which is odd, because a dozen guys have had that number in the past three decades).

    11 = 8 + 3

NOTE: It’s Twitter. So the line between fact and fiction is readily blurred.

Remember this time last year when so many people were talking about how great it was going to be with Moncrief here? How he was gonna catch 60 passes a season from Ben, because he had something like 30 from Blake Bortles. Good times.

Everyone can be wrong sometimes and no one could predict that Moncrief would drop almost every pass in their direction

Moncrief had 48 catchs in 2018 with the Jaguars, not 30 so 60 catch was not a crazy numbers.

88 has been issued many times as recently as Vannett and DHB. Why all of a sudden they won't issue 88 or 83?

That was my initial prediction. Request 83 and given 88. But after remembering 83 was issued after Heath, I thought it would go to Claypool.

88 has been issued many, many, many times after Swann. Joey Clinkscales, Hastings, DHB, Chris Calloway, Courtney Hawkins, Manny Sanders, Vannett. That’s clearly not a “sacred number”.

83 because of Miller. But I’m not buying the 88...that’s been issued to some scrubs in addition to the few I could remember...

Yeah but curious as to why now? Cobi Hamilton was just a year after Heath retired.

Moncrief had been in the NFL for 5 seasons with 2 teams and was on his 3rd team in 6 seasons. He was drafted because of his size and vertical speed, but those first 5 years showed that his worst ability was reliability and he only played 1 complete season. Top it off, his reputation growing around the league was that he was soft.

He basically mirrors the resume of Vance McDonald, except McDonald is physical as a blocker.. Big and fast, but cant stay healthy and drop rate is more than what you would like. Was really veteran insurance, but so many thought he was going to be an instant success, when nothing in his past pointed to anything but average to mediocre.

I thought he would be maybe a #4 or #5 (25-30 receptions). I figured Washington and DJ would step up. I never thought Moncrete would be a #2 but I also never thought he would be that bad.

Agreed, I thought JuJu and Washington would be 1-2. Switzer and Johnson would compete for slot job and Moncrief would be in 4WR sets, but also veteran insurance if injury happened. The talk that he was "soft" I read after they signed him and that was sadly a red flag. Still an epic collapse.

Lets expect Claypool will make that # something proud for fans to get.

The story about Ben asking someone to switch from 83 to something else? :dunno:

If the rumors are true about McFarland being problem child his next number will be 86'd.

That’s fantastic news. This backfield is about as exciting as the Mendenhall, Redman and Dwyer days. Maybe not even as exciting as Parker, Russell and Davenport...

You should check out that Filliponi clown crying on twitter about the backfield...and fans being mean to him.

Yes. Just what I said. No regular season player has had the below numbers for a while.

    1, 12, 32, 36, 47, 52, 58, 59, 70, and 75. 86 has not been used since Ward retired.

I have not seen 63, or 68 in a long time. The NFL Banned 0 and 00.
