This post got me thinking; what prospect do I hope takes an (epic) draft day tumble and the Steelers scoop them up at 49?

I could see Delpit being a bit of "coup".

Denzel Mims-Baylor. A WR at 6'3", 207 that runs a 4.38 and has a good catch radius, but I think lacks some polish and needs some coaching up.
The knocks on him that he isn't quick off the snap and can be lower into his breaks are all stuff that can be worked on IMO. Personally, I think his feet are too far apart at snap of the ball to get off the line quickly, so that and some hand fighting instantly improves his release.
If I was running the team and Mims was available when we got on the clock, it would be a pretty short pick. I think he is exactly what the offense is missing.
This video lays out a lot of his positives -- many of which you have already mentioned. https://youtu.be/8VzzDaz1Hbk
I have him my mock so this may be cheating but Antoine Winfield Jr. Such a versatile ball hawking safety that can cover receivers in the slot or play deep, which lets Minkah move around a bit also.
A secondary of Haden, Nelson, Winfield, Fitzpatrick, Edmunds *insert fire emoji*
I also agree with Mims. He would become a favorite of Ben's quickly. Don't see him falling though.
Just because nobody has said this name all preseason due to the fact he won't fall out of the top 5 I'll throw out Jeff Okudah CB OSU.
Okudah would start over anybody in our secondary except maybe Fitz. Inside/outside/slot CB and probably FS. Not a tackler per se but neither was Neon Deion, and Okudah may be just about that good. It would take something HUGE for him to fall out of the top 10, let alone the top 50 so forget about it.
Somebody within reason? I'll agree with B&G. Winfield Jr fits the Steelers like a glove. I think he would make a great Steeler. I don't think he would ever have to come off the field. They could probably find a spot for him on offense too.
For months now, I’ve liked Antoine Winfield Jr. at 49. He’s just... good.
At first, 49 was a reach. Then, 49 was about right. Now, he’d have to drop in order for us to get him at 49. So, if he were to drop to 49, I’d be very happy.
SIDE-NOTE:
Going into last season, Grant Delpit was the guy I wanted in R1. We traded for Minkah Fitzpatrick, and I’m way happier about that. But, since Grant had a subpar season, he’s plummeting down draft boards. Cutting to the chase, I wouldn’t mind taking him at 49.
Ryan Clark was on a Minnesota radio station, and he was talking about how if Antoine Winfield Jr. were two inches taller, he’d go in the top 15. Clark basically said he’s like Tyrann Mathieu: overlooked due to his size. Coincidentally, Mathieu tweeted that Winfield will be a two-time All Pro.
Clark has had his son watching tape of Winfield... learning how to play.
Clark started to say something about Delpit, but immediately switched back to talking about Winfield.
