Odell Beckham Living The Life At The College National Championship Game

As a followup to his triumphant season in Cleveland, LSU alum Odell Beckham had quite the time at the national championship game

The money that Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. distributed on the field after LSU's national championship victory Monday was real, Tigers quarterback Joe Burrow said in a podcast interview released Wednesday.

"I'm not a student-athlete anymore, so I can say yeah," Burrow said on the most recent episode of Barstool Sports' "Pardon My Take."

The university's athletic department issued a statement Wednesday saying it was aware of video showing "apparent cash" being given to players by Beckham and that it has been in contact with the NCAA and the SEC regarding the matter.

OBJ then continued the festivities in the LSU locker room

New Orleans police on Thursday issued an arrest warrant for Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on a complaint of simple battery.

Video surfaced this week showing Beckham slapping the buttocks of a Superdome security guard in the LSU locker room after the Tigers' national championship victory over Clemson on Monday in New Orleans.

Nothing like supporting your alma mater and kids you supposedly care about by illegally giving money away to possibly cause sanctions against the school and endanger the eligibility of players.

Either he thinks this is fine because he was getting paid during his college career or he is dumber than a box of rocks.....or both.

Which was dumber: slapping the cop’s ass OR the cop trying to stop “underaged” college players from smoking cigars & popping champagne bottles?

    Really.

Before anyone replies with “Well, they are underage” remember that minors may have alcohol in a supervised environment if the adult in charge takes responsibility (makes sure that stay inside/makes sure they get home safely).

Now... since this was not a private residence; it was a stadium, maybe that part of the law does not apply. To which I respond with... there’s the “letter” of the law and then there is the “spirit” of the law. Guess which one this cop was adhering to.

Ummm - in terms of which is dumber, get back to us on how it goes for you next time you slap the ass of a cop or security guard

In the real world for those who are not entitled celebrities someone who does that ends up posting bail that same night, assuming he does not take a trip to the ER first

In defense of the security guard apparently it was his rule crazy supervisor that tried to enforce the no smoking indoors rule

Another officer tried to tell them it was OK to celebrate with a smoke in the locker room but he insisted his commander told him it was a no-go.

Well........... you should never touch a cop, but this is a bit ticky tac, IMO. OBJ is a classic narcisist. That is why he will never be successful in the NFL. He is more important than his team.

Re: Odell Beckham Living The Life At The College National Championship Game

    @AtlantaDan
    @silver_&_black

    This reminds me of something...

On Halloween weekend, the college section of houses (Isla Vista) surrounding UCSB turns into a chaotic party. I mean, ten blocks by ten blocks of people crowding the streets. No cars in, no cars out. If you step off of the curb, you HAVE to start walking, because the streets are flooded with a current of people. No joke: 50,000 people.

Now... these are college students between the ages of 18-22. Some may legally drink, but most are not “legally” allowed to do so.

How do the police react? Do they stick to the letter of the law and arrest every underaged drinker?

    No... no way.

There is a police officer on every corner. Along the outskirts they form a line, and check to see that in groups that are leaving, there is a designated driver. (There are several vans parked out there... but, I’ll come back to that.) Meanwhile, police officers are roaming through the crowd.

If you act a fool, you go in the van. You look “too drunk”, you go in the van. You act like an a$$hole, you go in the van.

As the van fills, it takes people to the drunk tank, where they sleep it off, and are released the next morning (without any more repercussions).

    SUMMATION:
It’s an orderly system based on the spirit of the law.

The New Orleans Police Department could withdraw the arrest warrant issued for Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. as early as this weekend after the complaining officer signed an affidavit saying he did not want to pursue charges, according to a law enforcement source familiar with the developments.

Settlement terms presumably included a box of donuts or, since it is New Orleans, beignets

Remember that guy from college? The 25-30 year old that seemed to always be at the on campus parties and hanging out with his old frat? OBJ.

I forgot to say that there is a mutual respect involved. The police officers enforce the spirit of the law, and the students obey that spirit. It works. There is little “attitude” from the students; in fact, they’ll converse with the officers, who converse right back.

    It’s a good vibe.

    So... a story.

It was a non-Halloween weekend. A girl was drunk and belligerent at a party. She was standing on this guy’s front lawn, telling the cops all sorts of quasi-rude things, such as: “You can’t arrest me, because this is private property... so, go AWAY!!!”

The owner of the home spoke to the officer, apologizing. Then, the cop just waited on the corner. Pretty soon the drunkard wandered onto the curb... and the cops pounced on her like she was a donut. And... (this is the good part)... everyone at the party cheered.

    Order was restored.
