For Whom to Root (Week 15)

The Steelers can secure a playoff spot by beating the Bills and then beating the Jets. A third win (against the Ravens) gets the Steelers the #5 seed. The Steelers control their own destiny (for the Wild Card seeds).

Depending on what the Bills do in Week 16, the Steelers “could” have the #5 seed locked up by the time that the Ravens game comes around.

Of course, “just in case”...

For those of us who watch other games and are wondering “For whom should I be rooting?”, here are the teams for whom to root. (NOTE: The games are listed in order by the current seeding behind us in the Wild Card race: Titans, Browns, Raiders, Colts, Broncos).

Texans @ Titans One of them has to win the division. Since the Texans already beat the Taperiots, they could possibly still steal away the #3 seed. Plus, the Titans play the Saints and also play the Texans twice; those three losses would help eliminate the Titans. So... Go Texans.

Browns @ Cardinals Go Cards. Duh.

Jaguars @ Raiders Go Jaguars!!! The Raiders have back-to-back cakewalk games (Jaguars, Chargers); ergo it should be easy to root for those two opponents, because they have been eliminated from the playoffs.

Colts @ Saints Go Saints!!! Duh.

Broncos @ Chiefs Someone has to win that division. Since the Chiefs already beat the Taperiots, they could possibly still steal away the #3 seed. Go Chiefs.

Taperiots @ Bengals Duh!!! GO BENGALS!!!

Jets @ Ravens I’m not going to say that I’m rooting for the Ravens. I’m not. Buuuut, I’d prefer that they get the #1 seed over the Taperiots. Go...

(The rest of the games don’t really matter.)

What a maze ! I'm definitely a GO STEELER's fan. The only extra thing is I hate the bunghole team and fan's so much I want to see them go winless for eternity.....LOL. I, personally, though don't see the cheater's doing anything this year, raven's are going to be hard to beat.

(I also think Duck, with time and experience, has the making to be a franchise QB--- just my opinion)

Yeppers. Back when there was an official Steelers message board on the Steelers website. "Beat off the defenders"
Tell you what makes me feel old: My first "terrible towel" was purchased in 1975 after standing in line for hours in a huge crowd. It was a plain white towel because Gimbel's was out of yellow towels. It stayed white because Gimbel's was also out of yellow dye.
I was the only kid in my class with a plain white terrible towel, but the players signed it anyway when they came to our school.

I got banned from the original steelers board for swearing on one of the gameday threads, i think it was the titans playoff game where nedney sold the 'running into the kicker' penalty and got another chance after the penalty. man I was fuming mad lol

At some point the mods were over the top there. I knew a guy who got banned for saying Dick Lebeau. Dick was censored so at first glance it looked like someone was cursing lol

That is crazy and I was on another Steeler board in the early 2,000's. Can't remember the board name but the mods their was not Soup Nazi's like that! They just end up closing it later for whatever reason.

SF wasn't the original forum. The original was "FanZone" on Steelers.Com. SF was the second generation, and as I stated earlier... Everyone here with a join date of May 2010 was a member of SF and was banned from there when it imploded.

SF was the one I was on and not the original. I never got banned but remember many did. Now that I think of it that was the reason it died.

Yeah, that's what happened. The new owners wanted a lot of money from the members and the members rebelled. Most of the members were banned because they kept posting links to this new forum and the new owners didn't like that. It started with members posting links, which the owners would redact. The members would then repeatedly post them, and the owners would delete the posts. Then we started getting cute, posting links in our signatures, status messages, and even images (that was my personal favorite), which would result in a ban.
By the time we were done, that forum looked like a post- apocalyptic hellscape straight out of Terminator. The remaining members went into full scale revolt, posting a steady stream of porn, verbal abuse, and profanity. That forum was turned into Cleveland over the course of a couple days. They had to take the forum offline to clean up all the wreckage, and by that time we were all here.

In the end, they never got their money, lost all of their members, and we all got a new home.
