Re: For Whom to Root (Week 15)

I came to Steelers Fever after the initial wave had left. I was part of the reboot.

Buddha was the thread de-railer. HAM would “like” any & every post. And, Jon was the lovable Ravens fan. (I mention those three first, because I text them daily.)

So many good people on that board... some of whom have migrated over here. Ergo, now this board is awesome.

That's funny about HAM because its true. I really liked that guy, but when I would log in to see 40 notifications and 90% of them were "likes" from him, I have to admit that sometimes I was like ARGH!! SO MANY NOTIFICATIONS!!

Also, does Jon still take baths with is dog? Asking for a friend.

Pissmonkey was one of my favorite posters. I miss that guy!

AMEN!!! I loved that guy, but he once “liked” a post by TAPES18N1. I asked HAM why... to which HAM said: “Everyone needs a little hand up every now & then.”

Jon’s basement is full of dogs with PTSD.

PissMonkey brightens everyone’s day. Feeling down... here’s a beaver double entendre. Rough day at work... here’s a video of a millennial trying to use a rotary phone. Steelers lose a game... he’s a tirade full of expletives so crass that even steelreserve would blush.

Joined during the 2005 Super Bowl season then banned (with much justification) on Election Night 2008

That board was wild with the Steelers on multiple Super Bowl runs, outside the lines drama with the hiring of Tomlin as Cowher's replacement along with Ben nearly getting killed in a motorcycle accident, and off the chain political firefights during the 2008 election

We even showed up in a 2008 Wall Street Journal article on the Rooneys potentially selling the team after a WSJ reporter posted on SFF requesting he be contacted to discuss the sale (link may be paywalled)

'Hail, Mary': Steelers Fans Face Realities of a Sale

"I'm having a hard time breathing," posted one fan on Steelers Fever, a fan Web site, in response to the news. "This is a dark, dark day in Steelers history," another wrote.

I actually think we want the Colts to run the table and finish 9-7. I think that provides the only scenario we get in at 9-7.
The Titans and Texans would both win a 9-7 tiebreaker against the Steelers. If the Colts are in that mix, making it a 3 way tie, they would eliminate either the Titans or Texans as division ties are broken first. We would then earn the 6 seed with a head to head tiebreaker against the Colts. Go Colts.

    Apparently the Texans

ESPN playoff machine has Houston as #6 seed if Steelers and Texans are both 8-6 after week 15

Steelers go to #5 seed if they are 9-5 after tomorrow night by holding head to head tiebreaker over Bills with a win

Jon has a kid now. I never know if his text is going to be about his kid... or, a joke about some clown who keeps a basement full of kids.

Best thing that came out of the old Steelers.com board was Pimply Dan.

The members would then repeatedly post them, and the owners would delete the posts. Then we started getting cute, posting links in our signatures, status messages, and even images (that was my personal favorite), which would result in a ban.
By the time we were done, that forum looked like a post- apocalyptic hellscape straight out of Terminator. The remaining members went into full scale revolt, posting a steady stream of porn, verbal abuse, and profanity. That forum was turned into Cleveland over the course of a couple days. They had to take the forum offline to clean up all the wreckage, and by that time we were all here.

In the end, they never got their money, lost all of their members, and we all got a new home.
Thanks to HTG, wherever you are!
May 29, 2010 - SU opened for business. X-Terminator and I got it online, but HTG (RIP) was the real impetus behind this new place. Still miss the hell out of her.

Titans lose to Texans 24-21. Down 14-0, came back to tie 14-14, then Houston scored 10 straight before late Titans TD.

Texans now 9-5 and Titans 8-6

According to ESPN playoff machine Steelers will be #6 seed if they lose tonight but will miss playoffs if Titans, Texans and Steelers all finish 9-7

I think it may be impossible for titans and texans to have the same record. Since they face eachother again.

    Unless they tie.

So we go 2-1 were in?

    Not necessarily

Texans lose to @Bucs and home to Titans while Titans lose to Saints and win @Texans they both finish 9-7

Or Texans win @Bucs and lose to Titans while Titans beat Saints and Titans they both finish 10-6.

If Steelers finish 10-6 it appears they make playoffs if they tie Texans and Titans even if Steelers lose tonight to Bills

Winning tonight makes it a lot easier

Based on ESPN playoff machine simulations

I just played with the playoff machine and see what your talking about.

Side note! Why cant the Patriots just lose one more game! I just really want to see them on the road again.

If they lose and KC wins out. Kc gets 2nd seed.

Browns obviously inspired by the rumor Kitchens will not be fired and lose badly 38-24 to Cards

Raiders blow 10 point lead- Jags drive down field in last minute with no timeouts after Raiders miss a FG and score TD to win 20-16

8 losses for both Raiders and Browns -they are officially done

Sucks for the Raiders after we screwed them on the AB trade. Now we can end their season tonight.
