Dude's a choker, when the game's on the line he coughs the ball up. I think Samuels should be our dude from here on out. That guy makes plays when he's in.

Good attitude, but is a fumbler and made of glass. Not the workhorse the Steelers were looking for.
Benny Snell, the pistol whipping boy on this board during Preseason, ran harder than Conner.
Still unbelievable that Samuels didn't play any today.
This offense has not been the same since Bell left. His impact is truly missed, not just as a runner but as a receiver also.
1. Graham Barton, C, Duke 2. Ricky Pearsall, WR, Florida 3. Maason Smith, DT, LSU 3. Max Melton, CB, Rutgers 4. Blake Fisher, OT, Notre Dame 6. Tommy Eichenberg, ILB, Ohio State 6. MJ Devonshire, CB, Pittsburgh
Everyone on offense is doing poorly, even the O-line is shaky right now
I don't want to say this is starting to remind me of the Redman/Dwyer days, but a few more games of it and it'll be getting there.
It seems like we've got two backs who are good at different aspects of the game, who if you put them together would make a really kickass feature back, but you can't, so you have a serious weakness one way or the other.
It also does not help that the line seems to have regressed to the point where they are shitting their pants every game and probably are going to need diapers. Same guys as last year. If the position coach makes THAT much difference, your overall coaching probably sucks.
See you Space Cowboy ...

The Steelers don’t know who they are or what they want to do. A running team, a passing team. They just toss shit at a wall and hope it works. No real plan or cohesion.
They seemingly want to be an air it out Shotgun team, but they throw nothing but bubble screens and slants, the O Line has become bad and the Coordinator is way in over his head.
Changing the RB won't help. You have the same coaches. Don't the Steelers have a lot of high draft picks on the roster? 0-3 is the result.

They all stink right now. Hopefully they get going. Next up the 0-3 Bengals.
I think we should do a 50/50 time share with conner and samuels. and snell sprinkled in every now and then.
Also where's rosy nix?
No, they don't have a lot of high picks on the roster. They have been picking near the end of round one for a while now.
Every team has a lot of first round picks. It's called the first round of the NFL draft for a reason, and every team gets one each year.
You try to make it sound like they pick in the top 5 every year.
That's not even close to being true.
He's talking about the offense in a RB thread...….
Even that doesn't matter.
If teams don't have a lot of their own first round draft picks still on their team, that's a good thing?
My point is that EVERY team gets a first round pick every single year. Every team should have first round picks all over their rosters. If they don't, they aren't drafting well.
There is no mystery to what I was saying and why.
With a new QB the first bullet point on the defensive gameplan is take away the run. Pressure the QB and make him make fast decisions that hopefully result in bad football/turnovers/both. No surprise there and it should have been expected. I think attacking this scheme is exactly how the 2 TDs happen. Short pass to JuJu who then only has to beat his man and he's off to the races for the score. The deep pass was the other. Just not enough consistency to get the defense from keeping 7-8 in the box every snap. It is very likely the Bengals will use the same or similar defense next week. Let's see what if any adjustments or improvements will be used.
James Conner was leading the league in rushing for a good portion of last season and/or looked good until he was injured. What is different?
-AB certainly took that 8th man out of the box.
-Fichtner went 5-wide a LOT with Ben, and now, teams don’t respect Rudolph to go deep (all but two* of the passing playcalls were within 5 yards of the LOS).
*The two long TDs were great. More of that, please!!! The JuJu TD was designed to get him open. Weird. It worked. The Johnson TD was designed to attack the CB coming in cold off of the bench. Weird. It worked.
SUMMATION:
Conner is currently running into a wall. Until Rudolph goes/is allowed to go deep, teams will continue to stack the box. Likewise, until the routes are designed to “get guys open” (versus the current “just get open” style) teams will continue to single-cover the WRs (and stack the box).

In his chat today, P-G reporter Ray Fittipaldo noted the problems with the running game have not suddenly arisen this month.
There is a lot of attention being paid to the lack of the running game. And rightfully so, it's been bad. But I wrote about the run-game struggles last December. This isn't a three-game slump. This has been going on for a much longer time.

He linked back to an article he wrote last December after the Raiders game debacle.
The Raiders were giving up 153.3 yards per game. The Steelers gained 40 yards on 19 carries....
There is plenty to dissect from the Raiders game, and we’ll get to those gory details later. But it’s important to note the problems with the line can be traced back to the Jacksonville game.
The Jaguars are the NFL’s 26th-ranked rush defense. The Steelers ran for 26 yards on 11 carries.
The next week, the Steelers faced Denver. The Broncos are 21st against the rush. The Steelers ran for 75 on 16 carries.
Notice a trend?
The Steelers are 29th in the league in rushing (89 yards per game). They’re 25th in yards-per-carry average (4.1).

So there is more going on than just the loss of Mike Munchak.
