It
His absence on Sunday was commented upon and no explanation was given. It is his own damn business how much he wants to associate with the team during his injury and recovery but for whatever reason Brees was in a similar situation and put out a statement. Ben may not be able to care less about his image (although I doubt it for someone who preened last year about behaving as leaders behave), but it probably is no coincidence the QB who is more highly regarded by his fan base, with one less Lombardi and two less Super Bowl appearances, thought it appropriate to put out a statement. It may just be PR spin but so be it - spin works like it or not
But you are correct - Ben is wonderful, has never given anyone the slightest cause to applaud his achievements on the field while having minimal respect for him outside the lines, and it is unfair to point out how anyone else ever handled a similar situation
His sketchy public image could never have been improved by anything he does and anyone who doubted he might not be totally sincere in stating his unequivocal support for Mason Rudolph is just a hater and should ignore how Ben reacted like a petulant child after Rudolph was drafted, which was the only appropriate response after he had postured about retiring and the team had the audacity to draft a QB
Sorry you found my post petty, embarrassing, wrong, and a poor reflection on me - I can send you a link on how to activate the ignore feature
