Well that looks pretty stupid, unless they sign Skipper right back to the practice squad.

Probably because the Raiders started sniffing around Holton.

I'm sure Skipper will make it back to the PS.

    No big deal.

LIke others have said - I bet they just swap places. This close to Sunday no one is going to open a spot on the 53 for SKipper.

Maybe this move has been in the plans since game prep started? Maybe it has nothing to do with AB? Steelers still have 4 OLBs to suit up and now have 6 WRs. Maybe?

He will be on the practice squad next week. Almost a sure thing.

You don't risk putting a guy who balled out in preseason being claimed by other teams by cutting him.

Bring him back, we likely need OLB depth since Chickillo is likely gone

Whatever happened to Matthew Thomas? Or is he yesterday’s flavor?

But kidding aside I’d love to have Tupac back as well. But is there any reason to believe the Steelers organization has somehow changed their mind about him now?

Even if he does drop to us, what are the odds that this will suddenly be a priority for us?

TJ Watt has an abdominal injury and is limited this week. Chickillo has legal problems and isn't allowed in the facility. We have no depth at ROLB. In fact... Technically, we have nobody at ROLB at the moment...

Plus, Chickillo is a ST specialist and we need someone to fill that role. Skipper has shown that he can do that as well. It's a no- brainer to me that we have a need and Skipper is the perfect fit.

Yeah, Matthew Thomas showed some speed in unsuccessfully running down a player on a TD in the preseason and fans were thinking he was the next great LB with speed. That was a good one.

I agree, it would be OK to get Skipper back and maybe its the practice squad, since he didnt do anything much in New York to the point that he is the 54th best guy on their team.

Skipper is not a terrible thought since he's available again. If the OLB room consists of Watt(Ab strain) Bud, and Ola now with Chickillo possibly being suspended or worse, Elliot or Skipper would both be logical choices. Either one would be as a backup and very limited playing time if any anyhow. I don't LOVE it but there are worse things than bringing Skipper back now.

Guy couldn’t make the Giants team? I think I’ll pass...lol...unless it gets Chickillo off the roster. Then I’m all in.

I understand the thinking. But I also think it comes down to Skipper(if he falls to us) or Elliot. One of these guys would be the most likely OLB to get brought back on if the Steelers sign another OLB. Don't you think? If Watt is injured and Ola has to play more snaps to rest, that leaves Bud who has been injury prone himself for his career. Therefore I think they do have to sign another OLB.

This is a very funny board. Up through yesterday posters were bemoaning the cut of Skipper. Today, the Giants no longer want him so he’s trash.

Where do you see that? I only see one poster who says he doesn't want him.
