Breaking down the rules and eligibility for NFL practice squads
One of the most important parts of any NFL team is the practice squad. On Sunday all 32 teams cut their rosters down from 90 to 53 putting 1,184 players out of work. But for 320 of those guys, their dreams of playing in the NFL doesn’t end. For these guys, the practice squad is still out there.

Every practice squad consists of 10 players. They can be comprised of players the team has recently released or any of the rest of the pool of available guys. But not just any player who is cut can qualify.

THis is not an awe-inspiring list:
https://steelersdepot.com/2019/09/20...cker-updating/
RB Trey Edmunds
WR Tevin Jones
OL Patrick Morris
OL Derwin Gray
TE Kevin Rader
TE Christian Scotland-Williamson
DL Henry Mondeaux
LB Robert Spillane
S Marcus Allen
CB Trevon Mathis
They have one spot still open.
Diontae Spencer was claimed by Denver.
surprised we didn't sign Sutton Smith back to the practice squad.
I don't remember something like that
I'm pulling for Christian Scotland- Williamson to progress onto an actual roster somewhere. A few others there I don't mind also. I don't complain about quality on the practice squad. Mainly because I'm not an a^%hole and I understand that they are trying to accomplish something, but also because they're not actually part of our depth chart and they provide a valuable service for our team.

Anybody sign Hodges yet? I don't think a kid from Alabama is gonna make it selling Avon. Maybe he still ends up on the Steelers PS later in the season.
