Raiders GM: Time for AB to be 'all-in, or all-out'

Raiders GM: Time for AB to be 'all-in, or all-out'

NAPA, Calif. -- Antonio Brown left training camp again Sunday, and while Mike Mayock said it was over the receiver's anger from being denied use of his helmet, the Oakland Raiders' general manager also issued an ultimatum to Brown.

"You all know that AB is not here today, right?" Mayock told a group of beat reporters as practice began Sunday afternoon. "So, here's the bottom line -- he's upset about the helmet issue. We have supported that, we appreciate that. But at this point, we've pretty much exhausted all avenues of relief.

"So, from our perspective, it's time for him to be all-in, or all-out, OK? So, we're hoping he's back soon. We've got 89 guys busting their tails, we are really excited about where this franchise is going and we hope AB's going to be a big part of it, starting Week 1 against Denver. End of story. No questions, OK? Just wanted you guys to know where we were. Fair?"

His career is going to be a bit like Randy Moss if that's the case.

So there’s still two helmets that have to be tested that fit Big Headaches requirements. I’m confident two things will happen...

    • One of those helmets passes the testing and all this has just been drama filled nonsense.

    • HeadAche eventually winds up on the Patriots roster either this season or next for something like a 5th round pick.

Not if his feet are still messed up.

I heard one theory that since the issue happened with his feet, the helmet fiasco can be a reason for him to stay off the field and continue to heal his feet. Thereby not publicly admitting he did something stupid like mess up his feet in a cryo chamber in France.

Chris Spielman once had an issue getting his helmet on between plays at OSU, so he threw it off and went and made a tackle without a helmet. AB not wanting to play with a Schutt F7 cant be real, its gotta be smoke for something.

Mike Mayock said yesterday that Brown does not practice because of his helmet, not because of his feet

During the off season I was in the camp of "You're under contract, you're gonna play like it or not" then I was disappointed by how little we got for him. Now I'm just glad it's not us in the headlines. It would be such a circus right now and pitch forks would be out for Tomlin. Kudos to the steeler FO on seeing it and putting that distraction behind us. Good luck to AB, I can't see many teams willing to put up with him once the Raiders move on. He and TO will be doing sit ups in the driveway together.

After the 2016 season, Joe Greene wanted the steelers trade Antonio Brown ....In hindsight, the steelers should have listened Joe Greene at this time

too bad we didn't have Joe Greene in our locker room, he would have taken care of AB's behavior internally.

Yep it's the Steelers fault and...then we forced the Raiders to trade for him.

That’s all you need to know about Jason Whitlock.
He’s always making excuses for misunderstood athletes that act up.

Dungy On AB: "Something Is Wrong"

Antonio Brown hasn't played a down for the Raiders, but he's already wearing out his welcome in Oakland

Antonio Brown wore out his welcome in Pittsburgh. Well, he hasn’t even played a down for the Raiders, and folks in Oakland are already pretty frustrated with him.

“Well, hopefully it will come together, but I think we’re seeing a lot of what the Steelers dealt with over the last four or five years,” Tony Dungy said on Tiki & Tierney. “You have a guy who is arguably the best receiver in football and gets traded for a third-round draft choice. Something is wrong. Something has fallen apart. You hope that a new start, a fresh start in Oakland, would make it better.”

    It hasn’t.

Since entering the NFL in 2010, Brown leads the league in receptions (837), receiving yards (11,207), receiving first downs (546) and is second in receiving touchdowns (74). His talent is undeniable.

But he’s mighty particular about his helmet.

“Some of the stuff he’s talking about,” Dungy said, “I just think you go as a coach and say, ‘Come on, Antonio. Let’s move forward. You were comfortable in a Steeler jersey. You had some great years in the Steeler jersey. But you can’t wear that jersey. You’re with the Raiders. You had some great years with this helmet, but you can’t wear it now. We’ve got to move forward to 2019. Let’s all get on board.”

Brown, 31, is entering his tenth season. Can he change?

Kinda different though. Bell didn’t have a contract so he kinda didn’t have to show until he got paid what he wanted. Brown got paid what he wanted, is obligated to show and is now just being an ass about his equipment. It’s kinda the same but more different.
