Agree with Bettis and this AB Diva crap was going on for years and back when he would get the team penalties because of his TD celebration and etc. Hits to his head didn't cause this and pretty sure they also don't turn someone into a Diva. He is a self centered dude and Hard Knocks ep2 was funny. Gruden was swearing his ass of trying to fire up the team in the meeting and every player was listening accept AB with his gold chain on, head down messing with his cell phone.
It's in hindsight, but if this story is true that AB ran the wrong route in the AFC title game in 2016, that would have been the moment to trade him at this time...You just can't do it especially with a super bowl berth on the line.
I think the steelers will learn from that and if something like that happens again with a player, regardless of his status, the steelers will trade that player before it's too late.
Joe Greene wanted that Brown be traded after the facebook live incident .... Sometimes it's better traded a player too early than too late
Is there any reason why we can’t let this go? He’s gone and not coming back. AB has moved on, so have the Steelers. Can’t we.......
So maybe once the season starts, all new AB threads can be put in “Around The NFL” Forum, since he is no longer a Steeler, and this is the “Steelers Talk” Forum.
Shannon Sharpe had a good line about AB:
"Money does not change people. Money makes you more of what you already are."
Pretty amazing what the Steelers kept in-house about Brown and, spoiled jerk! Great talent but, not worth the trouble. Like a lot of the diva WR it's all about me.
It really explains why Colbert accepted what he did. Way to low for ABs talent on field...way too low. But way too high for his locker room and off field antics...way too high. Lol.
I wonder if any of this has changed peoples thoughts about Tomlin as a coach. To think that he has guided this team through a ton of landmines and only had a few of them blow up on him . . . fewer than almost any other coach, it has to say something good about his leadership.

I’ve always liked Tomlin. There times where I question his train of thought and want to strangle him. After seeing all this, I can only imagine what went on behind closed doors...it was a shit show for one season...I can’t imagine what it was during the whole time AB was here and what didn’t make it to the media...I have mad respeck for that.
According to many people here, Tomlin was the problem because he created AB by allowing him to act like an ass. It couldn't be that AB was always an ass and Tomlin had to try to manage his lunacy. Someone needs to be blamed by the pitchfork carrying members.
What's also hilarious is listening to many of these same people that attach all this power to Ben. You know, the people that claim he's an asshole and he caused at least half of this problem as well by not being a real leader. Ben supposedly has all this power, so he had to sign off on giving AB a big contract....right? The guy that hated AB and treated him like shit had to approve of the team keeping him around if Ben has all this power that everyone is always talking about. And....if that is the case, then how could Ben have been so anti-AB?
If you really think some of this through, it's hard to understand some of the claims that fans make about Tomlin and Ben.
The big mistake was giving AB a huge contract. They should have traded him before the huge contract, but if they did that...….the fanbase would be losing their minds saying that the organization is a bunch of idiots for getting rid of a great talent like AB...….and that Ben is a crybaby that forced the issue to get rid of him and Tomlin is a figurehead.
Can't-win scenarios are created by a certain percentage of the fanbase. They create a place where the owner, the organization, the GM, the head coach, or the QB can't win no matter how they react when "shit happens". Because in their world, shit never just "happens". It has to be someone's fault in the organizational chain.
Even if Tomlin deserves some blame for not punishing AB after the facebook incident, Brown deserves more heat for his terrible attitude in the last couple years
I admit I would have been upset if the Steelers would have traded AB in 2017, but we would have realized after that it would have been the right decision .... The Steelers had already made a move like that in this decade .... Remember when the Steelers traded Santonio Holmes(1250 yards in 2009,super bowl MVP in 2008) to the Jets in 2010? .... I was upset at this time, but after we understood why the steelers had made this move.
Who the F cares anymore, regardless of how or what happens AB is gone and we are about to start the season. Time to move on.
