NFL Says Antonio Brown Would Potentially Be In Breach Of Contract

It took less than a day for the NFL to respond to Antonio Brown's apparent plan to get the league to allow him to continue using a helmet that is no longer an approved model by the league. The NFL's response, issued by spokesman Brian McCarthy, essentially boils down to: "That's not how this is gonna go."

"The player can't practice or play in games with equipment that's not approved," McCarthy said, clearly referencing Brown even if not specifying him by name. "If he doesn't play or practice he is in breach of his contract and doesn't get paid. NFL policy is that Helmets have to be certified by NOSCAE. They don't certify equipment that's old(er) than 10 years."

His ego is tooooo big to leave that money on the table...he needs to continue to live that ridiculous lifestyle...otherwise, he will implode further than he has. There’s nothing humble about this guy anymore. “AB” is looong gone...

His ego is too big also to have a new helmet but he will still choose the new helmet with at least 30 million guaranteed, but he will wait as long as he can!

Tom Brady Says He Doesn't 'Really Love' His NFL Helmet amid Antonio Brown Rumors

Antonio Brown isn't the only one who doesn't like the new helmets the NFL is mandating. Tom Brady isn't a huge fan, either.

"I've been experimenting with a couple different ones and I don't really love the one that I'm in, but I don't really have much of a choice," the New England Patriots quarterback said on the Greg Hill Show on Monday, per Gabby Guerard of WEEI.com. "So I'm just trying to do the best I can to work with it."

"You get used to the same helmet for a long period of time. My last helmet, I wore it the last four Super Bowls, so it was a pretty great helmet for me. I hated to put it on the shelf," said Brady. "It's kind of what I'm dealing with."
