Charlie Batch doesn't see Ben Roethlisberger slowing down any time soon

In March, Ben Roethlisberger turned 37. In April, he signed a two-year extension with the Steelers that will keep him in Pittsburgh though the 2021 season.

Ultimately, how many more seasons will he play?

“I think three easy,” former NFL quarterback and current Steelers analyst Charlie Batch said on Tiki & Tierney. “I think as long as Tom Brady is going, 42 or 43 – can (Ben) play six or seven more years?”

Maybe, maybe not, but the CBA has – and will – play a factor in that.

“A lot of that has to play into the new collective bargaining agreement,” Batch said. “There’s no longer two-a-days. Guys in camp aren’t getting sore arms like they once did back in the day. These guys have a walk-through in the morning, having a great practice throughout the one-a-days throughout training camp. Guys are fresh, and the coaches are doing a nice job of giving Ben that every third day off to make sure he’s fresh from the midway point into the end of the season – something that’s worked over the last couple of years for him.”
