    Ranking all 32 RB1s heading into 2019 by Maurice Jones-Drew(Conner is 14th)

Ben Roethlisberger is another year older and Antonio Brown is in Oakland. The Steelers must run the ball early and often and Conner is their guy, even though recent reports suggest that there will be a committee of backs getting in on the action. He held his own last year -- ranking sixth in the league with 113.1 scrimmage yards per game -- but he'll have to be better to account for the loss of other weapons. The third-year pro will also get help from a great offensive line.

He’s best buds with Lev Bell. No real surprise here.

I would have put Conner a bit higher on the list, but overall it isn’t too controversial.

It’s weird to see David Johnson so far down the list but I suppose I get it. Personally, I see him having a bounce back season.

Conner and Aaron Jones should be closer to the 10-11 spot but everything else is pretty accurate IMO.

I'd place him about 8th behind Gordon.

Health and durability are the key factors with Conner. He hasn’t proven that ability yet. If he can play 15-16 games, he’s easily a candidate for 2,000 yards from scrimmage. In that case, who cares what MJD thinks?

I agree. Greatness is achieved over time.
I'm not going to argue his ranking based on one season.

Let's see what he can do this year, and how much they actually use the running game and the other RBs.

Thank you for injecting this board with some rational thought and objectivity. As stated here, the guy hasn't even played a full season yet, but there are Steeler fans that suddenly think a guy should be in the top 10 rankings with limited resume.

Imagine if there was a poll that ranked JuJu as the 12th best WR in the NFL? Some fans would lose their minds....and he actually has 2 successful seasons behind him.

I understand your point, but we can say the same thing in this list for players who are 9 to 13.

I think Conner has at least a argument on Jones in Green Bay, Cook in Minnesota or Johnson in Detroit.

Sure, I'd still take Cook over Conner, but Jones and Johnson are questionable. I still think Shady McCoy, Fournette and Derrick Henry should be higher. Either way, I'm not ready to complain that Conner at 14 should be higher, because I don't know if he has even played a 14 game season yet.

One could argue that Philip Lindsay had more yards and better YPC, as did McCaffrey, so they could be higher than Conner. I really don't care, but I think around 15 is OK for a kid I hope to see active for 16 games this year and hopefully put up 1000 yards.

I'm actually surprised MJD did't put LeVeon at no. 1 given how much he likes him
