1 NFL Draft sleeper for each position of need

    James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports

The order might be up for debate but most agree some combination of cornerback, safety, edge rusher and wide receiver are the Steelers top needs in the upcoming NFL draft. So what we decided to do is give you one deep sleeper prospect at each of these positions. These guys are all fourth-round and beyond but have tons of NFL potential.
    CB Isaiah Johnson, Houston

Johnson is a converted wide receiver who is still growing into his skills. He’s best in press coverage and does a nice job locating the football in the air. He’s got great size and solid recovery speed. He’s probably a two-year project but definitely has starter potential.

Another interesting take on Johnson: https://www.thehuddlereport.com/blog/?p=781 -- I think the author may be reading more than a bit into mental things that aren't provable, but an intriguing take.

Here is my favorite Steelers "sleeper" - https://thedraftnetwork.com/player/mathieu-betts -- no idea if the kid can play, but Steelers were one of less than a half dozen teams at his Pro Day. Has Colbert late round pick written all over him.

And Armani Hooker, don't know if he qualifies -- but I think he would be great at 3rd safety/dimebacker/sub-pacakage defender role.

Another CB nobody is really talking about is Jordan Wyatt, SMU. 6FT 195LBs slot CB with ballhawk skills and the ability to take INTs back for scores.

Interesting stuff. Some good links there.

Every year we look at all these players coming out, assess the team needs, and then seem to be drawn to certain players. So much of this depends on who is available when they make each pick, but I love looking at guys that aren't the players everyone is talking about, but look like they have a chance to be later round steals.

another roll of the dice is Jamal Peters -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWAeZ_B0C8M

All the athletic ability in the world, but reading between the lines of a variety of reports, it seems that he might be too dumb to learn how to play football. Why else would a guy this athletically gifted be unable to see the field? https://www.nfl.com/prospects/jamal-...a-2183a695ac9f

I also agree that looking at guys that will go in Rounds 5-7 or priority UDFA can be a great deal of fun.

I like Justin Hollins of Oregon. This evaluation has him as a 6th round pick-UDFA, but he looked good at the East-West Shrine game and could develop into a good pass rush find in the late rounds.

    Here are a few:

    Kaden Ellis, OLB, Idaho
He is Luther Ellis’s son. He’s got a motor.

    Nehari Crawford, WR, Duquesne
A local guy; so, he’s a legitimate possibility.
