What's impressive (well many things are about Greg Lloyd the player) is that almost all of those hits would still be legal. Just a totally under-rated player by non-Steelers fans. Too bad his career wasn't longer and post NFL he kinda went nutso!
Love me some Greg Lloyd highlights.
I don't know if there are or if there aren't but I do know that the NFL won't allow a player that violent (legally) to play. Even though those hits are legal, even today, they're too violent and he would get flagged for unnecessary roughness. 5 time pro-bowl and a 3 time all-pro, he's actually HOF worthy but he'll never even get on the ballot because he didn't play long enough. One of the most dominating players ever in his prime, similar to LT but just didn't do it long enough to get consideration as such, imo.
Lloyd is still one of my all-time favorite players.
If I were starting a defense, it’d be Troy #1... and Lloyd would be in consideration for #2.
“He practiced the way he played.”
The great ones usually do.
Jerry Glanville called Lloyd the meanest player in the NFL
Remember Lloyd's F-bomb on NBC after the 1995 AFCC game vs the Colts?
Hands down my favorite Steeler of all-time. My motorcycle plate reads '95Fan'. Greg was truly a badass on the field.
Greg Lloyd is the single reason i became a Steeler (from Sweden) .
Just plain nasty
