Meh. The FA market does not set the value of non-FA superstars as a multiplier of what mid-tier guys make in free agency. The star players make about the same as the top FA contracts, and those guys become disappointing signings who are widely acknowledged as overpaid.

If the Steelers wanted any of these guys, they could make it happen. You can manipulate the cap number to be almost whatever you want it to be and still make a contract look like a $20M/year deal.

Dante Fowler just signed a one-year $14 million contract with the Rams. $9 mil for Dupree is starting to look like a bargain.

As I’ve iterated in thread after thread: my top priority in free agency would be signing an established CB.

Roby apeears to be “good, but not great”... which is better than what we have and/or better than we’ve drafted.

That’s my theory.

As I have posted elsewhere, the Ravens released Mosley, Weddle, Smith, & Smith... freeing up a lot of cash for a “big” signing.
