So... Sports journalism these days is just repeating what people like/ share/ post on Twitter. Sounds like an easy job...
"I follow people on Twitter and when they tweet something, I tell everyone what they said"
"So... this 'following', it's a special skill?"
"Well, no. Anyone can follow somebody on Twitter. I tell people what they said and what it means."
"So let me get this straight: You monitor these accounts, and then..."
"No. When you follow someone, you automatically get a notification."
"So if people follow somebody on Twitter, they won't know what they said? "
"Oh, Well... No. They'd know what they said."
(crickets)
"So I gotta ask: If people are interested in these tweets,
why couldn't they just follow themselves?"
(Florio starts getting flustered and angry)
"Because then people who
aren't following wouldn't know about it!"
