Antonio Brown complains about having “no leverage”

Get ready for the shirtless driveway sit-ups and the “next question” press conferences.
Much of the week has been dominated by the question of whether the Steelers still want receiver Antonio Brown. The equally important question is whether Brown still wants the Steelers.

Neato article posted and kind of what I have been saying all along. If anyone thinks this just started between Ben and AB you have got to be kidding yourself. This has probably been going on a while.

Just as reliable as the worthless garbage spewed by Ryan Clark so take it at that, but a different perspective is finally coming to light.

Going the way of T.O. In 3 years he'll still be talented enough to be an NFL starter but no one will want his toxic ass on their team. I hope he falls short of 1000 career catches and never makes the HOF.

If you bothered to listen to what Ryan Clark has actually said concerning AB it would be fairly obvious to you that there's nothing questionable in the reliability of what he's offered. What weight to give it as far as relevance can be taken in different ways, I'll give you that. To me it all fits into the bigger picture. A picture that has been supported anecdotally by quite a few others through recent years that AB has become a raging a-hole on and off the field.

Quickly skimmed it and didn’t follow all the included links, but this is actually an easy fix - if the Steelers want to.

How much of a salary bumpy does it take to get AB above OBJ and Julio Jones? Because this article indicates that this is what this is all about.

He quit on his team. Appeasing him just doesn't seem to be the thing to do given his actions. I suppose you could buy yourself 2 more years. But to me appeasing brats and tyrants for short term gain always comes back and bites you in the ass down the road. And you never get what you hoped out of it anyway.

No doubt. Just saying that there is a bit of a crappy fix out there.

Chasing a moving target if that is what will fix this

In late July, the Atlanta Falcons revised Julio Jones' contract to get the superstar receiver to training camp and appease him without overhauling his deal with three years left.

At the time, general manager Thomas Dimitroff said the team would "readdress everything in 2019."

    It's now 2019.

On Thursday, Dimitroff said the Falcons would "take care of that business, and that will be done" in the coming months.

If March is the alleged deadline to trade Brown in order to save the roster bonus payout, doubtful Jones has his new deal done by then

Right now AB has the #2 WR contract behind Odell Beckham.

    https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings...wide-receiver/

Beckham's 5 year deal has a total value of $90 million. Brown's 2017 deal has an opt out after 2020 with $68 million paid through 2020.

But highly doubtful AB gets rewarded for acting out. When the Steelers moved $$$ forward on his 2012 contract prior to AB negotiating his 2017 contract deal the quid pro quo was AB showed up.
