AB, AV, Pouncey, DeCastro, Conner & Heyward Selected To Pro Bowl

Brown, Villanueva, DeCastro, Pouncey, Conner ( ) and Heyward selected to Pro Bowl

AB is not having a bad year but IMO JuJu is having a better one

TJ Watt not making it is a pretty significant snub IMO.

He has had a great season and is such a versatile player that clearly had the stats to be there. His impact on the game is real and is also more impressive than one dimensional players that almost exclusively rush the passer.

Cam Heyward not getting snubbed is a good result. It's hard for a 3-4 d lineman to get props.

Juju and TJ likely to be added as early alternatives.

I hope they get selected if that gets them a contract incentive

As for the game itself, there is no upside to risking injury to play in it - college kids have figured out it is pointless to play in postseason exhibition games by bailing on bowl games other than the playoffs to get ready for the draft - pros should do the same

The Pro Bowl needs to die

Na should be what it was for years, a nice Hawaii vacation in the middle of winter after the season is over. For the players I mean! Also for fans that want to see one more week of football for a fav player or two on their favorite team.

How do you see it that way? Brady has a better than 3-1 TD to INT ratio. Ben has 2-1 and thrown more game changing INT's. Brady doesn't have 3 PRO Bowl O linemen in front of him, a Pro bowl RB behind him and receivers as good as AB and JuJu, yet they have similar completion percentages, QB rating, etc.

Brady is having a better season than Ben, guiding his team to a better record, with worse offensive playmakers and worse O line.

Players back in the day couldn't afford that vacation to Hawaii. That's hardly the case now. That being said, I couldn't care less if they play the game. I've been a football fan all my life - college, pro, even the XFL, but I have never watched the Pro Bowl even one time. Zero interest.

Since you never watch, just let me say it was better the way it was! Players and fans enjoyed it more.

Ben has more yards, better completion percentage, more TDs, has played a MUCH harder schedule.

If you want to get into the players and all that nonsense, Patriots have better coaching. Conner doesn’t make the Pro Bowl if Kareem Hunt doesn’t implode.

Plus Ben beat Brady H2H this season...lol.

    Ben got snubbed.

When a QB leads the NFL in interceptions, the perception outside of the homers is not very good. He'll likely get added after one of those 3 go to the Super Bowl... or if Ben goes to the SB, it really won't matter.

When I posted Brady should not have been named I was thinking of Andrew Luck & DeShaun Watson rather than Ben, who Brady apparently was channeling when he threw it up for grabs and Haden caught it

Aaron Rodgers being named when the Packers have a losing record and have not won a road game this season is an even more egregious example of someone being named based on reputation. But since the Pro Bowl is a popularity contest not the least bit surprising.

Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady made the Pro Bowl. They shouldn’t have.

We should have drafted Pro bowler George Kittle. Besides being one of the best blocking TE in the NFL he can do this.

Luck's thrown almost as many picks as Roethlisberger (13 vs. 15).

OK. OK. So I've thought about this quite a bit. Have a theory and it is more than a bit wacky...

Ben Roethlisberger cost the Steelers George Kittle.

His post-season comments that flirted with retirement, meant that they addressed their needs (EDGE, WR, DB) and then figured they better add to their QB room. Rolled the dice that Kittle would drop to them in the 5th.

So....Ben Roethlisberger being a dramatic weirdo cost him one of the best young TEs in football.

Not saying I'm right, but it is my new theory.

Almost as many but not as many picks, more TDs (34 to 30), nominally higher passer rating, lesser supporting cast on offense, and after this Sunday probably a better record (9-6 as opposed to 8-6-1). IMO Luck has been the superior QB to both Ben and Brady in 2018.

Not really fair to use your psychic powers here. But while you’re at it, why not just give us their year end stats so that we can make a better informed determination for ourselves?

Also, since you know the outcome of next week’s games already, can you let us in on who beats the spread? Asking for a friend.

I said Colts "probably" going to have a better record than the Steelers at the end of this weekend - did not claim to know anything but if I did I would put $$$ on it rather than just post it on this site

Vegas supports my guess - Colts favored by 9&1/2 (money line-450)/Steelers 6 point underdogs (money line +210)

    http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/las-vegas/
    http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds...s/money/?s=510

Those are pretty high moneyline odds for which team is going to win straight up - neither game seen to be a tossup

But if you want to bet the Giants and Steelers straight up to win send me a PM - operators are standing by

I would guess Luck ends up with more TD passes and less INTs than Ben at the end of the season

FWIW I also would guess Colts end up 10-6 and Steelers end up 9-6-1

Hope that answers your questions, which I know were a sincere request for information

Would be interested in your response on whether you disagree with my contention Luck is more deserving of being selected to the Pro Bowl than Ben (seriously)

Or just take another shot at me

Ben is tied for the lead in Interceptions with Darnold (who missed a few games), I think it's fair that he didn't make the Pro Bowl.

Juju and TJ should have been selected. But they won't be alternatives since they will be playing the Super Bowl.
