At least we did one thing right this season, Bryant has been indefinitely suspended by the NFL for failing yet another drug test. What a complete waste of talent. I imagine he will be broke in less than 2 years.

This was a great move by Colbert and the front office.
It is also part of the explanation of this season. Losing Bryant, Bell holding out, and Shazier's loss last year took three impact players off the roster. There was far less room for error with those losses. No teams are immune to losing that much talent.
Next year becomes the year that all of this could and maybe should come together.
Bryant's loss hurt, but it was the right move and will potentially help the team.
Bell's loss hurt, but it also revealed Conner has talent and can play at this level. Bell also held out and cost the team nothing financially. They will have that $14.5 million to spend on the team next year.
The loss of Shazier was devastating. They couldn't replace him this year, but he comes off the books next year and that $8 million can be used to build the team.
These aren't excuses for this year...these are reasons. They are also a contributing factor into this year's struggles.
These reasons I list here also show the path to ultimate success next year if they get things back on the rails to finish out this season.
He should forget about the NFL and go somewhere where he can play when he fells like it and get stoned the rest of the time.
All Defense!
He can go to Ricky Williams' new league
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles problem now
I wouldn't even be surprised to see them bring him on as a special assistant to the LBs or something. Enough to take care of him and keep him around and have access to all the facilities. Then, if he is able to play again, they dropped him as coach and sign him as a player. This way, he's not taking a roster spot or riding the PUP list with its restrictions and whatnot.
It's very possible that they do just that. We have no way of knowing what their plans are.
A coaching position or job within the organization keeps him in the family without taking up cap room and he can still get full medical coverage and access to all the rehab and workout facilities to continue his quest.
I agree with all of you. Shazier continues his association with the team, regardless of current or future playing status. If for no other reason than so the Rooneys can take care of his medical bills and give him access to the best rehabilitation specialists.
