Is this the year?? Looking for some Bud Dupree love in here...
Will he stay stuck on the 5-6 sack total or explode for double digits this year?

He won't do anything. His fans will try to spin it and make excuses for him.
Hater = Realist
I gave him every benefit of the doubt I could muster up , he is such an athletic talent , that said he just isnt a great football player and at the end of the day if we get 6-7 sacks from him we should probably feel lucky ..
I hope he makes me eat crow , but I am not gonna sit and starve waiting for it
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
The FO seems willing to wait too long for him to do something. He's just another one of those athletes in a football jersey
It depends on what the definition for success is when it comes to Bud Dupree.
Progress as a pass rusher and looking like he has a plan when he goes out there besides running fast?
6 sacks, 8 sacks, 10, 15, and do they have to be of a certain quality.
One can go on and on, but that is my biggest frustration about discussing individual players, there are rarely clearly delineated benchmarks.
I have to say out of our OLB prospects he's been one of the more frustrating to watch. All that talent but he doesn't seem to be putting it together, making himself a pretty average player. I honestly think he'd be better as an inside backer since he can actually cover well, but he just sucks at rushing the passer. He still tries to get by on athleticism and that only takes you so far in the NFL
I remember the week leading up to that draft, lots of people were mocking Dupree in the top ten... and several Steelers fans were very high on him. Meanwhile, Tomlin was rumored to be infatuated with Vic Beasley... and several Steelers fans were ripping Tomlin because of it.
Which makes me think about how Tomlin was in love with Aaron Donald and ODB... who went before he picked. Likewise, Tomlin was very high on JJ Watt... who went before we picked. Same goes for Branden Albert, Mike Pouncey, Darrelle Revis... and the list goes on.
SUMMATION:
Someone needs to fix the leak in the Steelers’ war room.
I have been bullish on Bud since he was drafted but now I am not so sure. Next year our starters might be Watt and Adeniyi.
He's actually quite good in coverage, particularly when playing in short-to-intermediate zone and in the flat. He still doesn't use his hands properly and there's no inside or outside counter. He lets tackles get into his chest far too often and doesn't covert his speed to power around the arc. He has an explosive first step but isn't able to bend around tackles and gets washed out at the top of the arc. All of the tools are there, he just can't seem to put all of it together on a single rush.
He's not a bad player but I think his difficulties are going to be exacerbated at ROLB and not masked. I don't think it'll be very long until TJ is back over on the right side.
Dupree = Jarvis Jones
Per Kozora. Dupree dropped into coverage 38% of the time during the preseason. No way he gets to 10 sacks if that continues.
