In an act of kindness touching thousands, the NFL on Friday quickly issued a statement in response to a report that the Steelers used a deflated football against the Eagles in their first preseason game.
“All footballs were in compliance with NFL rules following the pregame inspection process and all proper procedures were followed,” league spokesman Michael Signora told the Post-Gazette’s Ed Bouchette.
“In the third quarter, a football that was found to be defective was removed from play and will be sent back to [manufacturer] Wilson for review.”

Hope the Phily sports talk radio host doubling up as the Eagles broadcast sideline reporter who stirred this up at least generated some talking points for his show today
Thankfully they got out in front of this so as not to taint our preseason win.

Howard Eskin is an idiot. No one in Philly likes this guy. Nothing worse than a person that knows nothing and just tries to stir stuff up.

I thought teams aren't allowed anywhere near ball maintenance anymore. At this point even if the Cheats had a low-air ball I'd have to dismiss it as happenstance.
From what I’ve read, it was one play. Mason told the red after the play, and they got him a new ball.
