Morgan Burnett sees potential in Terrell Edmunds, Steelers

    By JIM WEXELL

PITTSBURGH -- Proof exists that Steelers first-round draft pick Terrell Edmunds doesn't get tired on the field.

He apparently doesn't get tired of learning off it, either.

After Edmunds finished telling this reporter how new team leader Morgan Burnett was helping him understand the pro game, Edmunds walked into the locker room with Ryan Shazier, no doubt soaking in more knowledge every step of the way.

I hope the man reaches his potential, if he does he will be dynamic and it will make the defense better

I like Edmunds, seems to have a good head on his shoulders. Good attitude, high effort, high motor player, who has a high ceiling. Hoping he can make an impact for us early on, nice thing is I don't think he's going to be asked to do too much as a rookie, and he's got some great guys around him to learn the game from.

Or it could be anywhere between Sean Davis, Lee Flowers and Anthony Smith?

Early impressions of all 32 NFL first-round picks

    No. 28: Pittsburgh Steelers

S Terrell Edmunds. He looks athletic and hasn't made many glaring mistakes, but the reps are fairly limited, with Morgan Burnett and Sean Davis entrenched as likely starters. The team likes that Edmunds is an active communicator on the back end and is willing to play multiple positions -- safety or dime linebacker -- when needed. Status: Right on track. -- Jeremy Fowler
