Tomlin & Colbert attend ALABAMA’s Pro Day

Tomlin and Colbert were both in attendance for Alabama’s Pro day. That usually means that someone is getting drafted early from this school. The notable players:

    S, Minkah Fitzpatrick
    DL, Da’Shawn Hand
    ILB, Rashaan Evans
    SS, Ronnie Harrison
    ILB, Shaun Dion Hamilton

They met with ALL of those players at the Combine (albeit, Fitzpatrick was an informal meeting... and, we have ZERO chance of actually drafting him at 28).

The word on Twitter is that the Steelers ran the linebacker drills. (I’m not sure which coach it was.) Just when Justin Reid was taking the lead for Pittsburgh’s R1 pick, Rashaan Evans now becomes the front-runner.

NOTE: I’m taking Hamilton with that first R5 pick. If he recovers from his injuries, he is an absolute steal.

I would think the front-runners to be drafted by the Steelers at 1(28) right now would be:

ILB - Rashaan Evans or Leighton Vander Esch

S - Ronnie Harrison or Justin Reid

Tomlin had dinner with Alabama DL Joshua Frazier. (Colbert may or may not have been present, as well.)

    6’3” 320 lbs NT

It’s intrerestng that Tomlin had dinner with Frazier, because Frazier is a R4/R5 prospect (normally dinners are reserved for R1 & R2 prospects). Then again, Tomlin also had dinner with J’Mon Moore (WR, Missouri) who will also go R4/R5.

Josh Frazier looks like a great candidate to take that last DL spot from McCullers.

Frazier ran a 5.25, interesting that Rashaan Evans once again didn't work out at the Alabama Pro Day.

To be fair, the 'Bama kids (along with any of these early post combine pro days) got hosed a bit. No real recovery and rehab time for any injuries.

Now the real super interesting thing is what if Evans simply tweaked a hammy at the combine or something like that and decided not to run. Now that injury didn't respond in time for the Pro Day either.

Because NFL teams are full of goobers, Evan starts sliding down draft boards. Perhaps he joins a long list of "catch a falling star" Colbert round 1 picks?
