With the defense having the OLB drop into coverage much more often, I think that the days of these 250 - 270 lb OLB should be over for us. It's time to start bringing in the smaller, faster guys that are better in coverage. Guys that are more around the 225 - 230 lb range.
I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest. If you can't take it, you shouldn't play!- Jack Lambert

That is a valid thought. I tend to look more at the "Bud Dupree" athlete type. College weight and NFL weight can vary quite a bit. Perfect example is Chickillo, played DT at Miami and we have him at OLB. Weight is a very real point, but look at how some of these guys move at 250+, then think about them at 10-15lbs lighter. If they can maintain the leverage and strength in shedding blockers, that's great.

Based on the guys I have read about and seen videos of so far this draft cycle, this is the one guy that just screams "Kevin Colbert Edge Rusher Draft Pick".

    1. Skipped senior season and wasn't redshirted (I think) so he is a bit young.
    2. Raw and unfinished as a pass rusher but sweet googly moogly is this kid athletic as all get out.
    3. Can use that athleticism to do it all on the field.
    4. No clear idea of what his ceiling is as a pro player. It could be really high or it could be "meh".

That's the Colbert trifecta plus one when it comes to defensive players in the draft.

It's hard to get good film on Armstrong because Kansas was just terrible, and the other team simply ran away from him. But you are correct. One of those uber-athletes with tons of upside and potential.

Ebenezer Ogundeko – DE (Tennessee State)

Everything I have read about this kid says you get big time college talent from a smalls school because he has a tendency to get arrested.

I know that sounds bad, but what it he is over it and he can be had in the 7th?

No thanks, I'll pass on the misfits.

I recall being pissed off that we didn't take a flyer on Burfict in the seventh round or sign him as an undrafted free agent.

Couldn't have been more wrong. I want talent with some degree of character attached to it.

No doubt. Not an advocate of players with chronic character issues, but it sounds like this kid made one mistake (used a fraudulent credit card) and there was a fight at a keg party.

So two mistakes by a 19 year old and then nothing for a couple of years...maybe kid pulled his head out of his ass?

Landry pretty much secured himself as the premier "hybrid" 3-4 OLB in the draft after his combine, imo.

I found this guy doing a mock, Trevon Young. I understand he had a bad hip injury but I'd take a chance on him in R7 if he was available. The highlight link went to the pats site.
