There was some surprise no coaching change was forthcoming on defense, but if that were to occur, Tomlin might have to start with himself. He called many of the defensive plays from the sideline this season. He also took charge of many of the secondary meetings and those with the entire defense.

As another example, Tomlin wants players and coaches to report to the locker room two hours before kickoff for games. That was continually ignored by both players and a coach or two.

Not only did Bell arrive much later than that for the playoff game against Jacksonville (as well as one coach), he missed practically the entire Saturday walk-through the day before, showing up about five minutes before practice ended.

Methinks Tomlin needs to put his big boy pants on and put his foot down.

Which goes to show you he (Tomlin) is part of the problem.

So let me get this straight, the OC and QB hate each other but still manage to score 42 points against the #2 overall defense. Imagine how many points we could have scored if they liked each other?

So what is the first move you make after your defense gives up 38? You fire the OC?

If we roll into next season with the same guys on the defensive side of the ball we won't make it past the first round again.

If that's the case, Bell needs to go. As talented as he is, this is the very type of player that can be a locker room cancer and ultimately do more harm than good. He obviously thinks he's bigger than the entire team, and as a franchise player, if the coaches accept this kind of behavior, well it sets a standard for everyone else. A low standard.

Bell should’ve been benched the first half of the Jags game and it should’ve been made known why he was benched by Tomlin and ownership if the media asked why.

Tomlin needs to stop being so buddy buddy and start being more of a head coach. There’s a happy medium somewhere...

Tomlin needs to instill some discipline and forget about signing pothead to a long term deal. Try the franchise tag and hope to trade him but if be more in favor of him letting him chase the money and fuck off to a crapshow like Tampa or Washington and sinking into irrelevance

I wouldn't even bother with the franchise tag, I don't know what other team is willing to pick up that price tag on an overrated RB with a me-first attitude. This guy is a cancer and has this attitude that he's bigger than the team, and the entire organization. Being a no-show / showing up late to a PLAYOFF game is a major slap in the face that shouldn't be taken lightly. This is even worse than Blount leaving the stadium early, imo.

Not to mention this guy is one offense away from a year-long suspension. Save the $14M for other players who want to win a championship and put the team first. This guy is Terrell Owens v2. Players can say what they want about his BS not being a distraction, but let's be real, it totally is.

Yeah, nice to try and get something from him (remember teams are stupid) and some dumb team could fork over a valuable pick. Then again, there is value in just letting him walk, saying no man is better than a team, getting rid of a locker room cancer. Plus it's not like he'll make any meaningful impact on a crappy team without Ben, AB, or that oline
