Steelers sign Ridley

The Steelers signed running back Stevan Ridley to fill the void left by the injury to James Conner. Conner was having surgery on Tuesday for an MCL injury and was placed on injured reserve.

“Unfortunate for him,” said Coach Mike Tomlin. “Liked the trajectory of where he is going and his career was going in 2017. He will get well and continue on with his career.”

Ridley was originally drafted by New England in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played his first four seasons in the league with the Patriots, including playing in all 16 games as a rookie. Ridley had his best season in 2012 when he carried the ball 290 times for 1,263 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also had six catches for 51 yards..........

Good catch. He also had torn ACL/MCL in 2014. Not sure what he has left. Been on 6 teams in less than 2 years.

I am sorry but I cannot be objective when it comes to that team. I wouldn't take their mascot or even their waterboy. Anyone who once played for them is not worth the investment IMO

I'd rather have Williams back tbh. For one thing he wouldn't be completely new to our offense, and for another ... yeah, I just don't trust the Patriots or anyone who has played for them.

I really would NOT be surprised if whoops, there's a key fumble, or whoops, he happens to whiff on a block in pass protection if we face them in the AFCCG.

Yeah, Williams is old, but this guy has struggled after a major injury. No advantage there.

Now if we signed him specifically to pick his brain to sabotage the Patriots, that I could get behind a little more.

I believe the favorite on here is DWill. DWill said early on that he plans on keeping in shape and playing for some team this season. Not sure why he wasn't brought in over Ridley. I'm sure he got a call at least, but wonder what the deciding part is. DWill checks literally ALL the boxes heading into the post season. Ridley checks the one beside RB. I just wish I knew more details on this move.
