1. Graham Barton, C, Duke 2. Ricky Pearsall, WR, Florida 3. Maason Smith, DT, LSU 3. Max Melton, CB, Rutgers 4. Blake Fisher, OT, Notre Dame 6. Tommy Eichenberg, ILB, Ohio State 6. MJ Devonshire, CB, Pittsburgh
Buffalo is a legit wild card team.

Short answer is Panthers are a screwed up franchise
But Benjamin has a funky contract - $529,412 against the cap in 2017, $8,459,000 in the last year of his contract in 2018, for which Panthers exercised his fifth year option earlier this year

Panthers may have decided they were not going to sign him to a new deal and figured get what they could to avoid that cap hit
Might be some Bryant-like issues as well
The trade leaves Panthers quarterback Cam Newton without one of his favorite targets -- and comes two weeks after Benjamin left practice early, saying later he was frustrated about his knee injury.
Benjamin saw his targets drop with the arrival of rookie running back Christian McCaffrey, whose 49 catches are a team high and a single-season record for a Panthers running back

Cam is going to miss throwing to KB, yes he dropped passes but Cam has always struggled with accuracy and KB made a lot of potential interceptions into incompletions by just being big. Something to look out for.
Either way, it's crazy to see how teams somewhat implode after losing a Superbowl. Starting to see it with the Falcons.
Wonder if McCaffrey will move to WR?

Benjamin is overrated. He's big but that's about it. His hands are suspect. He's been known to be too heavy and out of shape.

Fat man is going to Buffalo
I think the Panthers got the best end of that deal. A 3rd and a 7th for a fat and slow underachieving WR? I'd take it.
PFF agrees
Benjamin’s separation ability was always lacking and it’s why the offense not only didn’t miss a beat, but also got exponentially better without him in 2015. To get picks in return for him was huge.

Buffalo wings, ranch dressing and bacon cheese fries. Fatboy is gonna catch passes and eat.
