In order for it to show respect or mean anything at all, standing for the anthem need to be entirely voluntary. The flag and the anthem are representations of the ideal of freedom. Respect the freedom.

This is complete bullshit. You bust your ass working your entire life, listening to all this political bullshit then when you think you have a few hours without it, you have to see it again watching sports! I'm about done with the NFL, I've been done with both political parties long ago which are the real losers.
All things considered I agree with this move. Rather than making a spectacle about who stood and who didn't, he's keeping the team out of the mess. With that being said, I'm getting tired of this whole thing. We just want to watch football...
The more I think about it the more it makes sense. They aren't here to make a political statement, they just want to play football. This is what happens when people like Colin Kaepernick and Michael Bennett take a knee during the national anthem to promote their left wing agendas and someone like Donald Trump, in an attempt to excite his most ardent supporters, fans the flames with an over the top comment that basically encourages people to kneel just to stick it to him.
There's a message behind it. Football is football, they are there to play football, and they are not there to draw media attention and make a political statement. It's a message that I think needs to be spread right now
According to NFL rules entire team MUST be on the field for anthem. Wonder how big the fine is going to be?
I think the NFL is circling the drain. On top of that America loves drama & sopa operas which is all the media is today.
If Trump and Krappernick were stuck in a room together and it was blown up, the country would be a much better place...lol. People would have nothing to talk about. There might be a normal president and maybe I could watch football without having to watch the National Anthem.
NFL stadiums are a workplace , they are being paid to be there and do their jobs ( football ) not protest ....
once they step into a stadium they are on company time so to speak ...
the League should have made a statement as such when this started and used the personal conduct policy to back it up , instead they where soft on it and it took on a life of its own ..I mean they micromanage everything else about what goes on inside a stadium why not respect for country ???
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles problem now
Wow...the coaches are out there and BIG AL
Personally, I think it is a brilliant move. Everyone stays in except for Villaneuava, who came out into the opening and stood for the flag. Absolutely brilliant.
In 1944, kids of similar age were storming the beaches of Europe and the Pacific risking their lives for this country. Today's spoiled brats need to show respect for the country and those who made it possible. Tomlin should lay down the law.
All Defense!
Steelers need to think more about beating the Bears than selfishly protesting who knows what .
All Defense!
They definitely are spoiled "me" types, but, IMO, aren't they just exercising their rights that were fought for? While I personally will always stand for the flag, I won't judge anyone who won't. I also find it funny a "man" who dodged the draft by using heel spurs as an excuse has any right to talk about patriotism. I can't stand trump, but he wouldn't be my personal reason for not standing for the anthem, but that's just me.
Another turnover, but on the bright side the Steelers were able to protest in the locker room. Nice choice boys.
All Defense!
Karma is taking over this one early on ....
I have no respect for those who can not respect our Country or our Flag ....
apparently neither do the football gods
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles problem now
