    Week 2 Thread

Thursday Night football between the Texans and the Bengals tonight.

It's going to be a horrible game for several reasons, but it's already a must win for both teams since after that, the Texans will play at New England and the Bengals at Green Bay.So the loser of this game have a good chance to be 0-3 after.

Each team will play in thursday night game as this is the case since 2012, so it's definitely bad for the product.Next week, it's going to be the Rams against the 49ers ....

For tonight, it's going to be a low scoring game (unless a defense helps their offense to score with turnovers) and an ugly game.In2015, the Texans won 10-6 against the bengals and they also won 12-10 last year against them and his 2 games were in primetime!

Not watching, but just checked GameCenter on NFL.com - typical TNF barnburner that should really help to boost the league's sagging TV ratings.

Good chance that the bengals will be 0-3 since they will play against the Packers in Green Bay in week 3....so the focus in this division for the steelers will be the ravens this year.

On to @Green Bay for the Bengals in week three - that should go well

Bengals need to tank in order to get in a good position for a draft that has a number of promising QBs - it clearly is over for the Red Rifle and I doubt AJ McCarron is a long term fix

While I still have a soft spot for Marvin for creating one of the most dominant defenses in NFL history, he follows a pattern that great DC's and OC's do not a great HC make. Cincinnati has a load of talent. Marvin just cannot piece together a true winner.

I thought so last year too, but I think Eifert seems to be injury prone so I'm not sure he'd be a good fix on our team. We have enough 'big' money sitting on the bench. Plus I'm not sure he's that good.

Bunghole fan's are obnoxious and pathetic, probably worst fan's of all NFL teams. Just leave Marvin, Dalton and Birthdefect there with a long term contract. Kinda like the NFL Globtrotter's......LOL.

Agreed being a great OC or DC is no guarantee of head coach success but head coaches fail from any background

Arguably the two best head coaches of the modern (post-1978) era were coordinators for legendary offensive and defensive units - Joe Gibbs (OC for Air Coryell) and Belichick (DC for the Lawrence Taylor led Giants defenses)

And OC and DC for the late 50s Giants were Vince Lombardi and Tom Landry

Story on what a sweet situation that was for the Giants HC

Hall-of-Fame end Kyle Rote related in a training camp anecdote just how detached Howell was from the daily grind. Walking down the hallway of the coaching offices, he spotted Lombardi in one room, reviewing footage from a previous game. In the next office, there was Landry, doing the same.

“Then I walked past Jim Lee’s office, and there he was, reading a newspaper,” Rote recalled.
